RadioactiveSand chalk is used by climbers and other athlets to dry sweaty hands in order to get more grip. Magnus uses a lot of chalk- and with a lot, I mean A LOT. This is so interesting. By anyone's standard, Magnus is a climbing god. Of course his techinque and footwork are amazing, but it's also fascinating to learn which muscles are and are not important for really excelling at this sport. Magnus has also mentioned that he has never had a training/overtraining injury which is very unusual too. I would love to understand how he has maintained such good muscle balance for all these years. Thank you so much Magnus for being a guinea pig for us to study!

Many, many years ago I was a long distance cross-country runner. I was very fit and very competitive. Although this is absolutely not me now, you never forget the journey. I am almost 60 now and have a heart issue but you can always tell an honest athlete by how the deal with the pain barrier. We would train 35+ km so that in competition, after a 12km run at varying fast pace, there was enough in the tank to run the last 400m at speed and the last 150m at full stride. And then die on the track after the tape. I so much miss the feeling of giving it your all. You can only ever be honest with yourself as an athlete and that you certainly are. Truely inspiring Magnus. You are a credit to yourself.

First time we've heard you swear, I think!? Very interesting to see that you are scientifically proven to be a BEAST, not that any of us needed telling. I have to say that this was a pretty perfect video if someone were to to have slightly sadistic tendencies and enjoys watching athletic men suffer....you know, if you're into that sort of thing ;) If you want to come to Cambridge I volunteer to show you the bouldering wall (it's rubbish but please come! lol)

I enjoy how you have combined the expplanations of what the research is doing with minor funny moments as well as the general numbers during the testing. Fantastic video Magnus! The amount of effort put into this test was amazing. Reminded me of my old biking days. Thanks for the amazing videos. Keep it up.

After my first experience of walking off a cramp (I mountaineer and hike a lot and ski with heavy backpacking etc etc bla bla), I've only increased the amount of consecutive cramps I'm able to grit through and "walk off" :p It's still as painful but it's more like, idk, you say "f* you" to the cramp and try to become competitive with it and beat it or something. Not entirely sure.
