@Vincent-Vega242 ай бұрын
FIrst off, as an MECP Certified Pro Installer, with over 25 years of experience, if you dont know whats going on i will eplain. The big subwoofers in the big box are acting like radiators and creating movement when the 6.5 is playing, then all of that combined is going down the long ass port that he has created. Genius idea.... Well Played!!!!!!!
@Mr.ChoKolate4life2 ай бұрын
In the video he tells you that the 10s aren’t hooked connected to the amp and at 70hz those 10’s aren’t Radiating anything lol plus the pressure from those subs would be on the outside of the port and the mic is measuring the inside of the port and the 6.5 is completely sealed off
@Vincent-Vega242 ай бұрын
@@Mr.ChoKolate4life OK, first off, the 10's do not have to be hooked up, although i would have loved a shot of the truck in full tilt just to prove that. Second, the 6.5 is an open speaker inside of a probably 5 cubic foot enclosure also he has foam around the PVC tube that he stuffed inside the main boxes port so unless he is an anomaly of car stereo, of course those big subs were moving if even just a little, enough to add to the SPL, If im wrong i will say im wrong but lets see the same contraption without it being stuck into that huge enclosure. Why do you think he stuck it in there to begin with.... For looks? COme on now!!!!! Ive been around and seen many an SPL score raised, and there is no 6.5 doing any number close to that without doing something such as this! I seen Alma gates have like 40 10's and she barely put up over 170's. I do love all your videos my man!!!
@Widowmaker28282 ай бұрын
He did say he tests at home on his workbench. Honestly I'm not sure why he put it in the enclosure port other than to save space and help hold the contraption. But you are right, the 3 subs were definitely passive radiating. Not sure if that was his goal though.@@Vincent-Vega24

Put the meter outside of the port... I gain like 6db when the meter goes in the port. It's not a very real representation of the actual volume but still pretty cool that you managed to break 170 with such a small driver in such an unusual "enclosure". I built long PVC ports in a box once, similar to this enclosure you made here... trying to lower tuning but ended up dropping peak by 4-5Hz and gaining about 5db at the time. Long ports are fun to play with acoustically.
