The hardness says nothing about the sharpness. The edge retention is crucial. For such a pawl, a multi-layer steel made of high-carbon and low-carbon layers of steel is necessary.

I don't know if it's just me, but I see this as a representation somehow of us people, that we have to experience such processes; the burning flames, countless smashing, and all the pressure to be one of a kind "knife" that can eventually be "ready" to slice whatever is in front of it in the perfect time. That we have to deal with such pressure first for us to be strong and sharp enough to face whatever life throws at us in the future. I don't know, maybe I'm kinda emotional rn, but for anyone who needs to hear this, hang on, the pressures are high, and it is intended for us to be stronger, we can do this! ❤️

He also gave me a small blade as well.about 15 innches long.I offered him money.but he was to proud.so he had free kebab off me for over 4 and a half years.till ine night he never came back in.I still have the small blade as someone broke into my shop about 36 years ago and stole the big one. the best blades I ever owned.👍👍👍👍👍

The katanas are still handmade and each process is delivered by a different master . Insane how sharp that blade is, when he cut the paper like butter my jaw dropped. Amazing work!
@watdatdoo2 жыл бұрын
It's plainly because its a high carbon blade, you can attain precise sharpness without training now with sharpener products. Aside from that they are very sharp, my new high carbon chef knife from japan tore through a very clumsy person's hand right to the bone, he said no pain. And that's just with it's own weight.
@KaoruSugimura2 жыл бұрын
Cutting paper isn't just about sharpness but uniformity. If the edge was jagged/uneven then it would work well. So, not only is it sharp but it has a very uniform edge. Which is a sign of skill/experience.
@watdatdoo2 жыл бұрын
@Stephen Mccormick Firstly no shit Sherlock, gravity is every where. knife was dropped from chest level and he tried to catch it around hip level. Yes I know that and I do not test it with paper, besides I did not even talk about cutting paper. Simply that it holds it's edge better. Unfortunately a lot of people out there simply can't tell the difference, at times it baffles them why a certain knife can slice through with ease and not others. I also see people shelling out hundreds for crap steel.
