It's bananas that in 2024 we don't have a livestream for the WSM. Like, who is their marketing guy? Why in the era of instant content would you ever think that keeping it off the internet is a good idea? A real wasted opportunity.
@A-A-RonDavis24708 ай бұрын
TV deals with scraping the barrel for money and zero marketing is what happens. It should be livestreamed and then edited into a video like the Arnold.
@mattg62828 ай бұрын
Not only do they not livestream it, they actively prevent other people from releasing footage of the events. Everything they are doing should be done the opposite way- they should be growing the sport, not suppressing it
@soarin58148 ай бұрын
There were plenty of podcasts and small details with Colin and Darren about it througout the years and in short - If they did livestream it, they will loose a lot of viewers as most of the population would watch it on youtube. They could make some money from it, assuming how many people still watch it on TV in comparison to youtube, could be like 4:100 ratio. Meaning they would loose a lot of money doing it this way, which might lead to even more unwanted changes, which would lower the standards even more due to lack of money.

I have to say that I kind of miss strong man being about massive individuals, but maybe even more so I'm impressed that someone like Mitchell who isn't the biggest but is winning these competitions is amazing, and he's shown that it's not just about Braun but also brain which I think is catapulting him to the top. Another thing is it's amazing to see somebody consistently win like this, but at the same time when they're always winning there's not much to look forward to it it's almost kind of better to have two guys neck and neck consistently, but with that being said it's still amazing to watch and see is he going to win another one!

To be fair, the big 3 (Brian, Thor, and Zydrunas, and eventually Eddie) were by far the biggest and stole the show, but there have always been underrated Strongmen that weren't mass monsters, like Mark Felix, Graham Hicks, Adam Bishop, Matjaz Belsak, Rob Kearney, Kevin Faires, Big Loz, Mateusz Kieliskowski,
@ExacT98 ай бұрын
@@A-A-RonDavis2470 Brian and Thor are tall and big (2m+), but Big Z and Eddie are "just" 191cm or so, but it's a noticeable difference, also Mariusz Pudzianowski was even shorter at 186cm but simply dominated. Overall it still feels that the Mitchell's height at around 191cm is the most optimal as shown by the previous WSM winners, you get a really good mix of everything, from strength to cardio and mobility. Guys like Brian Shaw and Hafthor are really the outliers.
