@maxxxmodelz40616 жыл бұрын
Overhead pressing should be considered king of the upper body exercises, even more than bench. Much like the squat is considered a superior overall exercise, the overhead press engages almost all the muscles in your body, and can help increase your bench and tris and can even work the upper chest and lats. If you do standing like this, then it also activates the glutes and thighs, so it's truly an overall winner. If you did only two exercises at the gym, it should be squat and overhead press. You can build a decent physique with those two.

Awesome pressing info from Shaw. Another OHP variation is paused presses. In addition to lockout, a lot of people fail right off the shoulders. You can pause just as you begin to press for a second or two. This is similar to paused deadlifts of the floor/spoto press

I really like these videos but the one thing I find annoying is that there is a lot of question asking in the beginning and it takes forever to get to the meat and potatoes. How about in the future starting with the completed movement being demonstrated and then work your way backwards? This happened in the George Leeman DL video also - lots and lots of talk and not a lot of deadlifting.

The soft knees part has me curious. If I'm pressing, and my knees are soft, I'll cheat every time. I have to lock my knees out in full extension for the press. Have to. It's a fail-safe mechanism for me to not push-press.
