00:00:00 Dade County Jail, Florida The two toughest divisions of the Miami Dade prison complex couldn't be more different. The Miami Dade Boot Camp gives minor offenders a chance to escape the prison through rigorous and unforgiving drills and rules. To many it is a better alternative to rusty iron bars of The Miami-Dade County Jail where murderers, rapists and robbers have their own rules of survival. 00:46:54 Tent City Jail, Arizona Old army tents left over from the Korean War house prisoners instead of cells. Will no walls or insulation around them, prisoners endure the unbearable heat of the summer, and the freezing cold of the winter. The Sheriff is a hard man who refuses to spend any more than he has to on his prisoners. Harassment and humiliation is a part of everyday life at Tent City. 01:33:51 North East Correctional Center, Missouri The state of Missouri invests over 800 million dollars each year in the Department of Corrections and operates 21 state prisons. The North East Correctional Center (NECC) in Bowling Green is one of them and a good hour's drive north of St. Louis. From the perspective of Officer Peterson and Richard McCool, the film shows everyday prison life and a completely new development in the Missouri State Prison System.

I've never put my hands on 9yo son who actually comes up to my shoulder in height already. I don't verbally abuse him either. I just look at him if he cuts up. He's not afraid of me, he just knows better and what's expected of him and does it. It's possible to teach discipline with mutual respect still present. I did it so I wouldn't have to send him to a place like this. I would be all over anyone doing this to him. It's not necessary. "Break him down so you can fill him back up"? Just fill them from the beginning, parents. It is possible.

The biggest downfall of society has been the destruction of the family dynamic. I agree though, it all starts at home and kids are products of their environments.

The problem is, its kids having kids. What is a 15/16 year old gonna teach her son or daughter when she's still a minor?

I can understand what their point is but u MAYNOT know if some of them have auto immune disorders that can lead to seizures u yelling and a reaming they get over heated then the seizures start then what u done out the child in the hospital 🏥 think about that b4 YALL break them down don’t break them so bad that they become what y’all yelling at them calling them sometimes that breaking them down may cause even worse issues I wish them all the best I believe in the boot camp these boys need structure and discipline!!!!!!!!!!!

Every single human deserves a second chance.. if you get said second chance, n eff it off and get out and do the exact sh1t you’ve been doing than, no one feels sorry for you. I and other Americans of all races, have got hemmed up and did their time.. actually learned from it and become very successful individuals. If you want the change.. it’s easy.. BE THE CHANGE! Our lives are worth way more than the gov making $60-$70 a day off of our mistakes.

This is the way prison is supposed to be. And he's right, it isn't intended to be a luxury motel, it's prison, intended to be punishment, they aren't supposed to be comfortable.

Dude cost taxpayers in that county over 140 million dollars as well as targeting and arresting journalist simply for reporting, as well as stealing/diverting public funds for disneyland trips and fishing trips ect. Politics goes out the window. Complete tyrant.

Wasn't at least the last one from this year? This one inmate said he's been in that restorative justice workshop from 2000 so he's been doing it for 24 years. Tent city one is over 10 years old, because I saw that in Lock Up which was filmed around 2012 and in the end of the episode they said that after the filming Joe Arpaio wasn't re-elected anymore.

I want to see the data of what happens to most of these young individuals after completing boot camp. To see if it's actually benefiting them or not. Treating a hueman like they are lesser than you isn't the best way to help another. Yes they need discipline but there's a fine line between it and insanity.
