World Sight Day is on Thursday 13 October 2022.
World Sight Day is an annual event to raise awareness of the importance of good eye care around the globe.
We know that 2.2. billion people - a quarter of the world’s population - have a visual impairment. And nearly half of this visual impairment could have been prevented, or could still be avoided.
Each year in October, Sightsavers Ireland hosts a once-in-a-lifetime challenge to mark World Sight Day: a 150ft abseil from the roof of Ireland’s Croke Park.
Why not challenge yourself, your colleagues, friends or family to take on this fantastic event?
For the cost of €1,200, you and your team of four can help Sightsavers change lives by protecting the sight of more than 7,000 people in some of the world’s poorest countries. You can also take part as an individual for €350.
Join Sightsavers Ireland at Croke Park, Dublin for World Sight Day to take action, help raise awareness and support Sightsavers work to combat avoidable blindness. The theme of this year’s event is Love Your Eyes.
