this makes me wonder how feasible a total war game set during the horus heresy would be, there'd need to be a bunch of changes and new mechanics for fortifications, vehicles, superheavy vehicles, entrenched positions, aircraft, drop pods, orbital bombardment, and a miriad of other bits, but just the idea of a titan stomping across the battlefield at your command and melting/incinerating huge swaths of enemy troops at your order sounds freekin awesome.

I didn't know that the modifier 'world war' would suit the warhammer fantasy. The battle ended quickly for both races.... It was fantastic....!

Depends who your fighting. The new troops are very lightly armored. Factions with lots of missle units can shred them pretty easily, elves especially as they can hide in plain sight as they fill your lines with arrows. The new units are powerful but expensive. Your 1 stack can probably handle 2 or 3 from another faction, but will probably cost as much as all of them put together. Works for me though. I prefer quality to quantity

Something strange. Soldiers fire point-blank, skaven flamethrowers fire within artillery range. The wheels are made of some weird material, they are almost impossible to destroy, rocket artillery shells explode in the air as if they have a fuse delay, but do little damage, but skaven orb throwers simply dominate. From the entire video, we can conclude that there is a benefit from only three units: wheels, flamethrowers and throwers of spheres, the rest are not even good as cannon fodder.

I always wonder where Empire finds enough men to fight endless hordes of skavens, cultists, skeletons, orcs etc. In WH40k it's thousands of planets, in FB it's only a country.

Usually because the Empire doesn't suffer nearly as many casualties against small forces as you'd think. Skaven are too busy fighting each other, Cultists are usually disorganized and can be beaten by a City Watch when it's rallied, the Skellys? Manfred, the Orks are usually ganked by a Dawi/Human alliance (or collapse into in-fighting), etc. It's only during the End Times when the Empire starts REALLY getting their shit pushed in.

It doesn’t have the largest population but is definitely more populous than almost any other forces of order (save perhaps Cathay) and so can afford to field very large armies that stand a chance against even the overwhelming numbers of the skaven or the tide of greenskins It doesn’t have the best skilled troops but the average state trooper is a quality soldier. Sure they’ll probably lose against your average high elf sea guard, but a state trooper is a match for several goblins or clan rats They’ll beat skinks and your average skellies/zombies one on one, they’ll be fairly evenly matched in formation fight against nordcan berserket thanks to polearm, training and discipline… And they’ll get their shit kicked in by factions that favour quality over quantity sure, but most of those factions tends to be forces of order, and in these situations well state troops have advantage of number! The empire doesn’t have the best tech (look at skaven and dawi) but it is advancing at a steadfast rate, is fairly reliably (much more so than the skaven, not as much as the dwarves) and they still maintain a technological edge over pretty much anyone else (more or less matched with cathay and kislev in term of gunpowder based weaponry but the Empire has a heavier emphasis on artillery than either imo) Empire magic isn’t the best but it exists and is a force to be reckoned with Empire knights and cavalry isn’t all that special, but still not many beings can face off against a reiksguard and not expect to fight for their lives So what the Empire got going for itself is versatility, its good at pretty much everything, excellent at nothing They got decent number, decent skill, decent tech, decent magic, decent cav, decent all, but excellent nothing

@@KalashVodka175 It's only when you start looking at things like Chaos Warriors and their Chosen when the Empire starts getting their troops butchered. Chaos is a fucking steamroller when it's organized under an actually smart Warlord, like Archaeon. Your average State Trooper against a Chaos Warrior is, well, not very effective. Grail Knights are fucking terrifying though, so the Empire at least has those guys to help at times when Chaos decide it's time to go kill. Hell, the Empire is incredibly fun to play in TW due to how all-round it is. Although my favourite still falls to Chaos because it's fun to steamroll.

Everything about this game looks amazing except there is no 'flinching' animations. It really takes the immersion out with 200 guys see a giant green flaming blob coming at them, that then hits 30 guys and the remaining 170 just stand there looking straight ahead like robots. I'm not saying they should dive out the way, but a simple flinch and maybe covering their faces or something. It would really complete the cinematics
