'Plop, plop, fizz, fizz... oh, what a relief it is!' Those commercials were so catchy. Idea for a documentary: how advertising has changed over the decades, or the most successful campaigns, slogans, and jingles. It reminds me of the movie 'Corrina, Corrina' because one of the main characters was a jingle writer who was experiencing 'jingle'-block. So many interesting ideas in your painting, and I run with the Alka-Seltzer!

lol yes! The day of the jingle was a good day. We are lucky to have grown up with thousands of such jingles interrupting our thoughts all day! I know I’ve seen Corrina, Corrina but it’s been so long-I will have to watch it again!

👏🏻👏🏻 Yay Ann! I have so enjoyed your way of presenting World Watercolour Month, it’s fun and appears so much less intimidating. I like the idea of being in a sketching mood, and doing small drawings on a single page. Then when the mood strikes, or the time presents itself, taking a little time out to play with watercolours, completing a week at a time. I too remember the “plink plink, fizz fizz” adverts. It’s very unusual for the US and UK adverts to use the same theme, but it really worked. I don’t see any ads these days, is it still going strong? Did you know that your Waldo is called “where’s Wally?” here? It makes me laugh like mad because a “Wally” in Scotland is a ‘friendly’ way of calling someone is silly, or none too clever. It is never used to put another down, in fact the opposite is usually true of the “Wally” in question. 🥰👩🏻‍🎨🎨🖌️☕️☕️

Thank you Anita!! That’s so funny about Wally/Waldo!!😂 I had to Google…Where’s Wally is written by a British author! Those books were very popular in the 1990s. I remember passing time with our boys in waiting rooms pouring over those detailed drawings. ❤️🤍 The Alka-Seltzer commercials were most popular in the 1960s & early 70s, if my memory serves. The little mascot was named Speedy & he even got into the space race-I remember a commercial with him wearing a space suit😂 I wonder if it went down under popularity because it contains aspirin? The overall pain reliever of choice is by far Tylenol (Acetaminophen) now…hmm…something to ponder! I’m loving the “small bites” version of world watercolor month as well-makes it much less overwhelming for me! 💕💕
