Let’s look at some of the many consequences with this booking: - Suppose Cody vs Rollins happen. If Cody loses to Rollins, that second Royal Rumble win would once again be all for nothing. And the whole “finishing the story” garbage would once again be thrown under the rubble. - if Rollins loses to Cody, then he would have lost to Cody four times in a row. Which makes Rollins look even more inferior. - If Damian Priest cashes in and wins, then Cody’s dream is once again crushed. And we definitely know he won’t cash in on Roman, that’s obvious. - If Rock wins (which I doubt), he will just be another part-timer champion, which we are all sick of atp. - WHEN Rock loses to Roman (and he will), that means Roman will have the championship for another fucking year, making all the top carders on Smackdown feel worthless. The worst thing is that Cody just gave up his shot. He didn't get attacked or injured (by the Judgement Day, for example) so he couldn't compete, he didn't get taunted into accepting Seth's challenge, and he didn't get eliminated by a returning The Rock. He just got a historic achievement by winning the Rumble twice in a row, and he threw that all into the garbage. Kayfabe-wise, Cody is now a loser. And another thing: if these last-minute changes are a consequence of the recent Vince allegations, I imagine that the plans are for The Rock to win the title and go for an apology tour. Apart from the fact that I think that new blood would be much more effective in this regard, this would make impossible for Cody to "take everything away" from Reigns, making him look even more like a jobber.

If rock and roman isnt for the title, and only for head of the table status, it brings the bloodline story full circle, if rock wins, and takes the bloodline from roman, Cody's words from pre wrestlemania 39 read as prophetic of him being a chief without a tribe and a roman with no reign when he does capture the belt. Long time story telling but we have to wait and see, triple H hasnt really mishandled booking often, so we will have to see whats in store
