Oh man this is one of my all-time favorite NES games ever.. Played the heck out of this as a kid.. Really fun Co-op game too! Always liked playing this, Narc, and TMNT with a friend.

It was 1990 when I started to play this game after my school. I was able to finish it when I discovered the secret button control that gave me 100 lives. This is my all time favourite game.

another very pleasant trip to my teen years courtesy of JagOfTroy! tho I got the "original" arcade emulated on my MAME (hence the quotation marks, LOL) this one brings back so many memories as well. now, I can hardly wait till JAG, Valis77, Tsunao & MadMatty or JohnX make a 4player LP of ThunderZone, known in the States as Desert Assault. actually, believe it or not, even tho this was inspired by Capcom's Commando, which in turn was inspired by Taito's Frontline, this one inspired MERCS which went on to inspire both SNK/Saurus' ShockTroopers games. pays to know your VG history, right?

+Decibel FX I was about to say the same thing. Going by 4 dimensional gameplay on this one, it reminds me more of the 2nd level Contra Alien Wars. One of the toughest game of its time.

+Decibel FX I believe Heavy Barrel came out at least 1-2 months after Super C (at least in Japan), so... I guess it was just inspired to some extent. I doubt it's a deliberate rip-off. Still, I agree - this game ain't too shabby at all. One of the better top-down shooters for the system IMO. :)

you have no idea how many unlicensed(some even a skin swapped ripoff) games that name after "Contra" which I have played when I was little. this being one of them ripoff, they just slap "Contra" on the game sell it and hope to boost the sales. In fact not until high school, I still think this is one of the contra games. still one of the best games I have played.
