I loved little details like that in this game. What’s funny is if some of the bikers are close to you when you arrive on the previous driving stage, they will be there at the start of the level. Also in the mall, police won’t start following and attacking you until your shoot. You can also cut across the map in the mall level by going through one of the stores.
@Vednier3 ай бұрын
@@javierlopez7527 Also, its possible to get to John from "back" of Arcade and this way you will not encounter T-1000 on this level at all. You need to shoot just 1 time, to get machine gun in gun store.

5:14 There is something just really funny about the Terminator colliding into a truck from behind and ramming it repeatedly, probably shouting, "Hurry up, I need to get to John Connor."
Imagine what a good Japanese developer like Data East, Sunsoft, Konami or Capcom could have done with this license. It wouldn't have followed the movie as closely as this shitstorm, but it likely would've been a cracking game. Instead LJN and Ocean, the grandmasters of shitty licensed games, picked them up and farmed them out to subpar western game studios like Flying Edge, Bits, Software Creations and the aptly named Dementia. The studios behind the different T2: Judgement Day games are like a who-is-who of shitty early 90s western game developers.
@TheDutchGhost4 жыл бұрын
Weird part is that the same studio also did the Gameboy game and that one is at least playable if incredibly short. It ain't great but it is better than this thing.
@Jac2Mac4 жыл бұрын
@@TheDutchGhost Even worse is that OCEAN also did the computer games based on Terminator 2 which are EVEN worse than the LJN games as they force you to beat it in one life and has a terrible sliding tile puzzle.

Actually, Sunsoft would have probably farmed Terminator 2 for the SNES out to a company like ICOM Simulations or even Park Place Productions.
@TheDutchGhost4 жыл бұрын
@@Jac2Mac Funny that you mention Ocean and her movie tie in games, I was talking with someone else about that in the comment section of a Robocop 3 SNES video (bad movie, bad game). They were another company notorious for their average to terrible movie tie in games. Terminator 2 Judgment Day for the home computers is a good example. This was such a strong license for a game and they wrecked it with that crap mini game collection. Outside the Arcade game probably the best Terminator 2 game was probably Terminator 2 for the Gameboy. It wasn't very exceptional and long but at least it played better than the games on the other consoles. Kind of weird that Sunsoft would probably let ICOM simulations handle it. They were well known for adventure games on the PC, something I think they should have stuck too. Park Place Productions seems to be more known for their sports games. But yeah it would have been difficult to find a good publisher and developer if it could have been prevented that Ocean or LJN/Acclaim got movie licenses like Robocop, Terminator, Alien etc. The other person I talked to suggested Virgin Games and if possibly the people who handled Robocop vs the Terminator. I do think Probe did a decent job with Alien 3 on the Sega 16 bit and SNES. The only problem with those games was that they became too repetitive after a while. If a bit more variety could have been done in the gameplay, make them for example Metroidvania like games such as Aliens Infestation that they would have been better. Oh and you may disagree with me (which is fine) but Bits did a relative pretty job with Alien 3 on the Gameboy. Its major problems are its length once you figured out the puzzles (should be longer) and its graphics, but making it a survival action-adventure was a better decision of theirs.
@Jac2Mac4 жыл бұрын

I expect I'll get some abuse for this but it was a long time ago so maybe I will survive.. I coded this 'shitstorm'. A lot of time and effort was spent on it, although it was rushed at the end due to pressure from the publisher. The driving section was never really finished and was meant to be something completely different. Level gameplay.. no excuse for that, at the time I thought it played fine, although the publisher was rushing us at the end, The gfx are probably my fault as in order to save ingame and gfx memory as much of the gfx as possible had to be the same from frame to frame. Music, not my department so blame someone else. Future object and things not in the film, we were told to put them in otherwise most of the levels you'd just have walked in and out in a few seconds. 1 life/ single sitting, can't remember why it ended up like that as we used codes in the games we did after this. It is a very clunky game, even as an action-adventure it is not very good. One of its biggest problems other than being very unclear (the idea of actually having to travel from location to location yourself can be a good idea) is that it is marred with terrible controls for both sections of the game (walking and driving). I would like to say that the technology was not there yet but that is not true, the design was simply very flawed.
