the spoto era was an exciting time because the bench record hadn’t been broken for 8 years since Scot Mendelson’s 715 in 2005. and Spoto was the first world record bench in the youtube era. so that was a definite historic mark and an exciting time for all fans.

Maddox is superior
@bigbcoulter80204 жыл бұрын
I don't know if I would say superior. Spotos record was 722 and julius's record is 771 I believe. Roughly a 50lb difference. Spoto weighs in at 320lbs and Julius weighs 460lbs. Plus Eric had an injury that stopped him from competing. But I'm not taking anything away from Julius and what he's accomplished. He's the record holder right now and I can see him hitting that 800 lbs. But like I stated, Eric was the man 7 years ago and inspired me so he'll always be the best bencher in my eyes.

Nobody is close to JM. Guys before JM would take years to put five or ten lbs on their bench. JM makes 20 and 30 lb jumps in month’s not years. If he gets 800 bench will be far out of reach and guys will stop chasing. 700 lbs and above eats shoulders. Nobody will stay intact long enough to get to JMs numbers.
