A runner who was awesome at spotting a creating space, the amount of players he put in space! Awesome defender aswell, alot say Wilko was the better defender at 10 but he looked more spectacular because he would hit them front on (causing him quite a few injuries) Carter would let them almost get past and drop them with perfect technique.

Except he played for the ABs and Canterbury, so a huge amount of his kick were in the centre of the pitch, which is not shown in the stats. For most of his career could never reliably kick from the side line and past 50m like Mehrtens or Wilkinson. It was only in the WRC 2019 when he started kicking consistently well. Mehrtens and Wilkinson always consistently kicked difficult kicks. If it hadn't been for Dans injury in 2015 the ABs would never have called up McDonald and won that world cup.
