I think that is a more accurate picture of which team is the best. They are both great teams and they have both had good goal kickers which some teams seem to neglect, especially the Wallabies. The number of points the latter leave on the table is embarrassing.

New Zealander here - the ABs **really** screwed it up in the semi vs England. Credit to England though - how they didn't put **40** points on us that day I'll never know. They were *that* good. Strange thing is that, in the modern professional era, not many rugby players get the career ending injuries that soccer players and boxers seem to still get. Lot of protection rules. Very strict, the IRB, on these rules. A lengthy ban is not unheard of, for dangerous play.

As a kiwi I don't think enough credit was given to the SA tight five you hear kolbe, mounga, barrett faf but now that I've rewatched this game our front row we're getting owned by the SA boy's. there has really only been two teams in the RWC. SA & NZ. I cant really see that changing at any time in the future. The other contenders ENG, AUS and any of the 6N and RC teams will come close but there is too much in these two teams. I predict RWC 2023 will be won by NZ. Both teams will want to be the 1st to make 4 RWC but NZ seem to always have an edge on SA.

New Zealand always seem to have an edge because they win so many games from cheating and the refs being biased, creating an illusion of near impossible to beat. 1st scrum 00:23:00 - All Black Moody drops elbow to ground, no penalty for SA. 2nd scrum 00:27:00 - AB Moody drops elbow again, no penalty for SA. 3rd scrum 00:32:00 - AB Moody angles in on SA Kitshoff, no penalty for SA. 4th scrum 00:35:00 - AB Moody drops elbow and whole ABs front row collapses, no penalty for SA. 5th scrum 00:56:00 - looks good. 6th scrum 00:59:00 - AB Moody angles in (not scrumming straight), no penalty for SA. 2nd Half. 7th scrum 01:08:00 - AB Moody drops elbow to ground, stopping AB Aron Smith from feeding the ball into the scrum. No penalty to SA, Scrum Reset AB Moody drops elbow again, No penalty to SA, reset again AB 3 not supporting own weight, slips, causing whole AB front row to collapse. No penalty for SA, instead penalty to New Zealand. 8th scrum 01:17:00 - looks okay. 9th scrum 01:22:00 - Ball comes out of scrum behind AB Kieran's feet, SA 9 Faf has rights to go for ball, but Kieran pulls ball back into scrum and ref gives penalty to New Zealand. 10th scrum 01:30:00 - Scrum reset, AB 18 not supporting own weight and slips, No free kick/penalty to SA, scrum reset. AB 17 angles in causing SA 18's head up, No penalty to SA, instead penalty to New Zealand. 11th scrum 1:44:00 - Finally ABs stop cheating at the scrum, and South Africa shows what they would have done to the New Zealand scrum most of the game if not for ref allowing ABs to cheat. Usually when you drop your elbow to the ground in a scrum its, because you can't withstand the pressure coming from the opposition, dropping the elbow effectively stops the opposition from pushing you back, or makes it very very difficult.

@@philsterthephilster So just ignore all the penalties the ref didn't give then? its no secret that New Zealand rugby always gets away with so much more than any other team. It's called the dark arts because it's not easy to see whats going on inside the scrum after engagement. But all the penalties I listed were so easy for the ref to see and he just ignored them out right. The scrum has always been a strength of the Springboks, and New Zealand's chances of winning against the Springboks obviously goes down if they loosing and giving penalties in the scrum. So how do you take away a team's strength if you can't do it legally, cheat, and for New Zealand they can coun't on the ref's letting them get away with it, especially against the Springboks. Of course the Springboks are not perfect, but this game, like many others for New Zealand, the ref was biased towards them. And the scrum penalties not being given to the Springboks in a world cup game where it is ssoooo much more important, clearly shows the biasedness from refs towards the ABs. If you want to read further on then please: Not to mention: During the super rugby before the lock down, for years it was the same, the newzealanders off the ball tactics were terrible, constantly holding and tackling players off the ball, they did this so much that Bismark DuPlessis got so frustrated one game that he kicked the new zealander on the side of the head and got banned for how ever many games. Only after this incident did the referees take the off ball antics more seriously because they could see it would lead down a terrible path if they did not deal with it.

They do it to gain field, because they have a good chance of winning the ball back in a lineout, which happens when the ball is kicked out and the opposite team gets to throw the ball in except when the ball is kicked out from a penalty
