protip: the drive shafts that go into the final drive make sure to keep the collars greased, we neglected the inner collars on our 8240 last year and it stripped the splines off. wasn't terribly expensive but it was a half a day down time. oh and check the final drive oil regularly. our 8230 lost all its oil and went out, that one was a bit more spendy.

My dad retired when he was 50 and bought a hobby farm in West Virginia. He loved mowing fields, putting hay bales in the loft, etc, etc. I spent one week a year there on vacation and we would work together every day on some job which I knew zero about. It was a great experience for about 25 years. This video reminded me of working with dad. There was always something broken or whatever and a solution had to be figured out on your own. It was an hour trip to buy a loaf of bread so we would have to dream up some way to fix it or go another route. You do the same stuff, but on a much larger scale, and not just for fun. You are also good video producers. Well done.

i can already tell you that these new tires will work better in muddy conditions than any set of duals out there.in the Netherlands we do a lot of testing as well, and it has been proven that wide singles are better than duals that equal thew same width as these wide singles. i'd say that's a good purchase!

Lol that picture of leg arms bench pressing the tires up !!! Lol 1000 thumbs up...... An them are some wicked wide tires ... Pounds per square inch should immensely help on soil compaction also should make a huge difference going through the wet ground. Also?? I am extremely curious on the ride part of the tires... In theory it should write better then the duels but I think you're going to find a little more side rock.. Only possible downside to that is the pounds per square inch for traction. You now have less pounds per square inch of weight traction but that being said traction is not the issue it's soil compaction that's what cost you money... Like you I'm extremely interested to see how it performs... We just NOW this week we're able to get on the fields in my area lots of seed corn went back or was held over for next year everything we got is going to soybeans... It's almost too late for soy beans all we can hope for is a very late Frost and late winter cuz it really sucks big time combine beans in the snow... But it's in God's hands now make-or-break it's in his hands.... But love the sweet tires!!! Ok I got to get back on the sprayer got sixty acres to get sprayed with Roundup yet tonight ...

Worked at a New Holland dealer for a couple of months and we put those tires on combines and a big 4 wheel drive tractor. It was pretty cool! I would love to come work for you guys for a summer! I love welding and fixing things and I’m going to a diesel tech program.

Here in row crop country, dual are preferred because the corn stalks will chew up a set of tires every year. Duals are easier than floaters with stalk stompers.

I want to thank you for sharing all your videos. I grew up on a farm in southeast kansas where we raised wheat, corn, soybeans, milo, and lespedeza! We ran a lot of red paint and before that it was strictly Case. So, watching your videos keeps me up to date on the machinery and how far it has grown in technology. Lots of CaseIH combines in my part of the world with LSW’s, they’re 1250’s though. I haven’t seen one with 1400’s yet. On a different note, we will be getting 3 new Claas Lexion Terra Trac’s to harvest rice with this year, y’all come on down to Mississippi and drive one.

magic , cant beat going on terra tyres , had em on my commander 116cs , they were 77 x 44s , had to change the final drives cos the axles just snapped after a while , then the wheel centres gave up the ghost , cured thad , took the 16mm centres out & made 2 new ones out of 25mm plate , cured it , youll get the best ride ever , good luck

If you ever feel sketchy using a skidsteer to break/tighten bolts, back when I was trenching for tree replantion there were these two nuts the only way we could loosen/tighten them is we had to use this specially made breaker bar and hook a logging chain to it and pull it with either the one ton truck somtimes that couldn't do it and had to use another jd 648h they would break loose then!

When I was in the Air Force we had a torque multiplier to pull the prop nut off. I believe the torque on it was about 1200 to 1300 foot pounds. We didn't have pneumatic wrenches to turn the torque multiplier so it was a long way off but it would take it off no problem. I don't remember what the ratio was right off hand. These were C-130 engines rated at about 3800 horsepower. Although everything was stated in torque value.

You can remove the extension from the impact gun. It dampens the hardness of the impact on the nut a little bit. Also try to use a short air pressure hose, as there is a loss of pressure the longer the hose is. Grahpite grease is a nice anti seize for such bolts. BTW, no jackstand. BTW no jackstand and pushing and fumbling around at the vehicle with a forklift at the same time!!!

Tip on those tires. They sit for a duration of time after being warm or over the off season they get slight flat spotted. Be careful they will hop until they get roundish again. #farmon

Hope you can get the header down low enough now? Maybe affect the angle of dividers and lifter attack? We bought an extra combine 40 yrears ago and found we couldn't get the header down low enough like our other CLAAS Matador and found the fresh one had much bigger springs on the lift rams meant for wider, heavier headers. The previous owner was on very level land and probably never cut as low as we did on steep banks, needing all the straw we could get for our cattle.

I am wondering the same thing. In the past, I have used (accidentally) V tracks backwards and never noticed any traction difference. Now, I mount them the socially accepted direction just so I do not have to explain my deviant behavior. Is there any science behind which direction the V's point?

Ag tires are mounted backwards on steering axles because they are driven by the ground and will turn better reversed.

We had some tires similar to those on our 9770 john Deere's at klien harvesting they work awesome in muddy fields. They actually work better then tracks. And the ride is amazing

If your not frequently lubricating your air impact, In my experience, when my air impact won't break a bolt/nut loose, adding a couple of ounces of air tool oil into the quick disconnect will boost the torque of the gun, sometimes enough to break it loose. It will blow oil out the exhaust onto your pretty new wheel and maybe onto you also. lol

In illinois is it really commond too use large flotation tires in some areas on the combines but not lsw 1400. But we heared very positive things about titan lsw. The combine will on road ride beeing more stable at fast drive i believe.
