you are completely correct, its not hard to find a high dps build that suits the player. wether you want to 1 shot a boss with void titan, go for it, you want to survive and be the person to tank thousands of hitpoints from ads, go for it. its not hard to find something that you want to play, and getting the exotics may be difficult, but its 100% worth the grind for them. cheating in pve does seem kinda tame, but cheating in something like pvp or a Raid Race, it just makes the game un-fair, because you are forcing your way to the top, without giving any of the other players a single chance.

I'm guessing that Bungie can easily access the Event Results information (and maybe even the entire scrolling combat log from the encounter), and see the clear signs of cheating. So this sort of shit can probably be detected even if nobody's streaming on the team.

not really, because from what little i understand, the whole point of this thing is that it denies sending data to the servers for validation and the client>server hand off doesn't work properly, furthermore to fix this problem would require a lot of engineering time and resources, something bungie doesn't care to even entertain doing, so don't expect this to change.

I watched the complete vod (it’s like 20 mins of footage in that part). It looks like they didn’t notice the health bar or orbs because they were focused on dps and tbh I understand that as it was the first time the guy did silly damage so they weren’t looking for it, they then saw the 17 mil and a few people were saying “wtf” but narrowed it down to a visual bug and were understandably sus. My first, maybe second? GOS run was for Divinity. The boss kept glitching out during DPS phase. His health bar would shoot back up, or he would start taking less damage. It happened either way and we tried like 10 times. Someone got frustrated and left so someone brought In their friend who could do the net limit thing. The boss actually glitched again to where he was a tank, and even with net limiting we had to second phase lol. I'm sure some people never have issues with that boss but plenty of people do as well. Net limiting is trash when used in a competitive event but god bless whoever that was for making that GOS completion possible.

I've had this experience with raiding too. After Day 1 of Deep Stone, we were wanting to finish the raid, and had to LFG. When we got to boss, we accidentally had 2 people using Divinity, and never realized it until DPS started. We instantly melted the boss- but not because of Div. Turns out, our LFG was shooting Xenophage like an 850 Auto rifle. We circulated the clip thinking it was double div, but after watching the clip a few times, we figured out it was him. Through some people we met through the debacle, we found someone who knew someone from Bungie, and got him banned. Since then I've been kinda scared of doing LFGs, and I just stick to my clan now.

Or they hit enrage and are about to wipe at a 1%, but decide to cheat and net limit to victory? This gives a massive edge to the cheaters during world's first, and would be impossible to really identify.

what really sucks is bungie's whole reason for making the raid on friday was to avoid bugs. my team was stuck on totems for 7 hours before we eventually gave up because enemies kept teleporting/respawning. rezzes were literally moving around the map and contest mode was pretty hard for us on that specific encounter. the champions wouldnt stun and no matter how hard we got the mechanics down, something eventually bugged out either at the start or right before we powered the glyph entirely.

one thing I hate about unstoppable stuns, is the stun while in another animation, it sucks a lot, because the stun timer will play out, and you can't stun the champion, but the champion can still stomp mechanic you to death, instantly. champs for me just kind of makes some things like raids iffy, raids should just be run whatever you want, but champs just make it a lock and key kind of thing.

I think one option would open raids like 10 days after a season or expansion. It won't solve all issues but it will give people time to unlock artifact mods and character builds. Less incentive cheat. Currently it's all rush is in a small time frame and people have life commitments. Also streaming would be the worse idea ever. That would basically have negative effect on people who are not confident talking etc in front of strangers. Not sure how they would handle net limiting though

Bungie can view the match/activity from the perspective of any player. Meaning they can usually see whatever it was you were seeing. Microsoft can take it even farther with their ability to see what you were doing on your console/PC...I didn't know how much they could see until I needed a refund once for some purchases that were made via an on screen error message. They're able to see everything that goes on if they look at it.

This raid was the first time I experienced net limiting, and took a while to realize what it was. Our Warpriest was deleted with damage, and thought it was a bug. Only took people of KZbin to explain that someone was cheating. Glad we didn't continue playing with that team after that encounter. Careful using LFG, you never know if you'll be playing with a cheater.

I was highly disappointed with challenge mode for this raid. They made all of the encounters really fun, and I don’t care how much someone will call me bad, the fact that the challenges are almost entirely based on rng, and plus warpriest is so buggy, is infuriating. I can’t even begin to explain how incredibly angry I am that I didn’t finish because of how many times we would get him down to 1hp and then fail because the challenge bugged

given the fact that there was a pretty big indicator and they waited till the beat the encounter i could see giving everyone involved a temp ban as a warning of "hey this is unacceptable, its against terms you should have handled it sooner" but perma banning the offender. and i 100 percent agree that 1 person should be required to stream during the race to be considered. at the very least (though im not experienced enough in the recording biz to know how well and easy it can be to fake something like that) require a time stamped and ip stamped recording that can be sent to a secure bungie email for verification. (tho going through all that footage would take alot of man power that may not be worth it to bungie). the temp bans would be on a case by case though because if someone hides it well enough it can be difficult to tell or impossible to react fast enough to stop something in the heat but if its clear like in the clip during a wipe screen they should have immediately been questioning and its kind of obvious and they chose to finish the encounter first.

I had a fun glitch here! After completing the totems, the wipe mechanic wouldn’t stop going off, and returning to orbit and coming back couldn’t fix it, so whole team ended up splitting to continue the raid
