It's so important, now more than ever, to show the importance of connecting with love to the people around us. Thanks, Kelly, for showing that you value living right, by not prioritizing surfing necessarily, but the relationships that foster, develop, and empower your surfing to the highest levels. Millions of people (including myself!) look up to and admire you...yes, because you're the GOAT, but also because you have the potential to leave this world a better place for those less fortunate. Thank you for shouldering that burden, for helping others, for leading with love and kindness, both in and out if the water. Cheers!

I'm such a huuge KS fan, but watching this series brings some sad awareness that it's gonna have to end eventually. Watching him surf has gotten me through some really tough times and I'll be kinda bummed when he retires. I know it's coming--this series feels like a bit of a swan song--but I may have to look the other way for a bit when it happens.

Great innovator, performer and ambassador for the sport. Reminds me of George Greenough - a genius that invents tools and then technique to go with it. True innovation. Certainly his wave machine will revolutionize the sport. I don't think we've seen anything yet. He will probably have a hand in creating a wave machine that can rival Pipeline.

Kelly still has it, but I can’t help but think that his equipment is holding him back. Ever since he started to surf with FireWire technology, his surfing looks clunky and off. The precision and flow he used to have seems gone. Don’t get me wrong, he rips, but the more I watch him on all these boards, the more I see like a disconnect in his surfing. I feel like he’s too much on the surface trying to hang on, rather than cutting through the wave like a hot knife. I just can’t find the words to describe what I’m seeing. He looks almost too buoyant and too sinky all in one, like he’s constantly trying to fight his way out of both these opposing forces.

@mikeuptegrove2 жыл бұрын
@@rydeovashit glad it’s working for you. It doesn’t seem to work for Kelly. I just came in from a four hour session here, and I got talking to our local grom who shreds about Kelly, and he’s no more than 12 years old, and he basically was seeing the same thing in Kelly’s surfing. He also said, “his weird quad isn’t working, whatever he’s riding is too buoyant”. So even a 12 year old, who rips harder than me was noticing that Kelly’s equipment isn’t working for him. I don’t doubt that some people rode great on FireWire helium setups. I have a seaside, a glazer, and a beyond, they do work, but when I want to really connect with the surf, they aren’t my go-to’s. I think my Biolos RNF 96 PU is the best thing I’ve ever ridden. It can’t do wrong.

Holy shit, so I commented below and after I unpaused it, here’s Kelly saying what I was thinking, that he’s not surfing the energy of the wave but is above the surface. Idk Kelly, I don’t think your theory for that notion being good for Bells is correct. It doesn’t look right. You don’t look right. It’s not just this board, you been looking too buoyant and disconnected since as long as I’ve seen you on FireWire technology. Your surfing hasn’t looked right for some years. I don’t think it’s that you’re older and slower. Something isn’t working with the technology or shapes you’re riding man. It looks like you’re perpetually between being too on the surface and digging in, like you’re constantly battling two opposing forces that are clunking up your flow. You should go back to PU for a bit man. I like Dan Mann, but maybe you should start working with Biolos, his shit seems to be winning.

It's a very delicate situation for the WSL. Since 2018, only the Brazilians are World Champions, not to mention in 2014 and 2015 also champions. "Economically" for the world of Surfing is not that good. The great companies of the world Surfing are Americans and Australians. The Hawaiians haven't won for many years, the Americans, the Australians and the South Africans too. Do you have any idea how depressed these nations are? "No interest" ????? for the new generations. The World Tour is ours and it will be even more so in a very short time with the current CBSurf as it is today. I think it will soon start to attract a lot of foreign Surfers. Undoubtedly "Brazil today is the country that dominates since the beginning of the world SURFing Tour". The WSL is shooting itself in the foot with the judgment failures in some heats involving Brazilians. WSL has to find a formula to stay ALIVE. I don't know if my opinion is the most convenient at the moment, but if anyone has another analysis, it would be good to post it here. Hello Guys!!! Happy Sunday, Good Waves 👍☘️

Hahaha.... such nonsense !!! Go back to bed mate
@RaulEdu332 жыл бұрын
The competition just needs to get rid of judges biases. Develop an AI video analysis for the scoring. Still Brazilians will continue to win, they are simply superior this day and age. Higher population density, higher chances to produce talent. In the US and Australia mostly only rich people can afford to live near the coast, they have other priorities than motivating their kids into surfing careers.

@@darnelljenkinson7407 exactly.. ever practice baseball as an infielder on a unlevel bumpy ground with crazy bounces that can black an eye? That make your reflexes get quicker to make the play then you get on a well groomed level playing field and it's so easy to read the ball and show out. Same with surfing this east coast slop most days. An occasional glassed off day comes but it's rare. We were always pumped when those days came generally after a storm....
