We join Chris again as we finally get to see his impressive 190-gallon aquarium, an amazing mixed reef that is seeing a lot of coral warfare. Like his 65-gallon tank, which also hasn't had a water change in nearly two years, this behemoth of glass and water harbored a dark secret-it had it out for Chris! Learn what it takes to run a bacteria-run tank and the dark side/dangers to the reefing hobby!

Fenbendazole is supposed to work to kill Clove polyps. I only have experience using it to Kill colonial hydroids. It is harmful to inverts so when treating a main display all inverts should be removed. I've used a double dose with no ill effects to corals and fish. Thanks for showcasing Chris tanks. Amazing job Chris. Keep up the good work.

This is the correct answer. It works really well! I would be careful of any soft corals like leather, toadstool, or gorgonians though. I’ve heard from several people that it will kill them. It will also kill a lot of bristle worms and snails. There’s an article by a guy named “max draco” that has details on effects dosing, timing, etc.

@@desertreefer8003 If you search on R2R there is a thread on this. It's named: "Here it is! Fenbendazole use against hydroids" These are the instructions I used for colonial Hydroids. Not sure if it's the same dose for clove polyps.

Wow, again, man, this guy is my idol lol! I've been in the hobby since 96 and have often thought about a bacteria only system, I just started a new set, and this is what I'm gonna shoot for! Thx for the inspiration! Kudos to you 👏

I just tried to keep is simple. I wish you the best success with the new setup 👍. I enjoy the bacteria side over all the techno reactors and gadgets. I've thought about the bio-pellet reactor but wouldn't try that unless I added more fish to get nutrients to start rising.

To get full coverage, he just needs to raise the lights higher. And 2 units side ways would be enough for that tanks. Icons put out a lot of par, that's why raising them higher would be better and will get full spread
@hebert70543
@hebert70543 5 ай бұрын
I currently have them at 18“ after that I start getting a lot of spill outaithe tank. The original plan was to run them lengthwise with the tank but the lights together without the space for their wifi antennas was more than the inside length of the tank. Plans are to build a floating canopy off the wall to mount the lights in with a separate outlet to eliminatethe sight of the cords 👍.
@hebert70543
@hebert70543 5 ай бұрын
Also tried to mount the outer ones sideways but the rail bolts do not allow for that configuration without having individual mounts for the lights.
@6jdhd
@6jdhd 5 ай бұрын
@hebert70543 do you know what optic came with your fixtures. From what it sounds like. 120 deg optics. If so. You can get the 90 deg optics, which will allow you to raise the lights higher and even out the spread. You might have to lower the intensity. The 99deg optics will raise your par levels. .
@hebert70543
