I have rheumatoid arthritis and tried those Ergon grips with the wing. Helped a little bit. ESI super chunky is where a huge difference was made. Super comfortable and seems to dampen the shock from riding.
@MrBig6174 жыл бұрын
I dealt with a lot of hand pain/numbness. Unfortunately the ergon with the wing didn't help it. But fortunately, the ESI foam grips helped a ton! I use the extra chunky because of my giant gorilla hands.
@uvwuvw-ol3fg11 ай бұрын
I think the relative softness of ESI extra chunky encourages to grip them too tight. Ergon type grips or grips with 4 ridges for fingers feel more like they melt in your hands.

Top 10 *Lock-On* grips. Once you try a glue/wire push on grip, it's hard to go back. The lack of an internal pipe or frame means more rubber for a given thickness, so they are really comfortable, especially if you have a hand injury/condition.
@tmaskaly_154 жыл бұрын
My favorite grips are the Sensus Lite grips. They feel super comfortable out of the box and don’t need to be broken in.
@tacticalpotato56654 жыл бұрын
The ergon ge1 are my number one go to. The more you use them the more they make sense and normal grips feel weird and uncomfortable to me now. They removed all of the pain I used to have in and on the outer edge of my palm. The build is on another level with a reasonable price (they're not cheap compared to some other grips but a good grip makes a night and day difference to ride quality and how much motivation you have out on the trails).
@jacksonvance54694 жыл бұрын
My favorite grips are the Ergon GA3’s. I had hand numbness and these fixed it all, plus, I don’t need to grip them too hard b/c of their design.

I've smaller hands and I was long looking for grips with a smaller diameter but still enough damping. Since I found the ESI Racers Edge I'm really happy with them. But on trips I always have some spare grips with me as they tend to tear when crashing. So not perfect for downhill or enduro but for me still the best option.

Best grip to date (not even a close competition imo) is the ODI dread lock. Obviously grips are a super personal item probably only second to saddles. For someone with big hands and multiple hand and wrist injuries and metal implants there’s nothing close. Comfy, cushy but firm, massive traction, slight contour. Eager to give the Deity SupraCush a try tho.

I used to love Ergon grips, but recently to me they seem cheapened for the price. I spent 40$ on a pair and it has a plastic lock on. Not impressed with it. I have 2 old pairs of Biocork GA1. They are fabulous. They really help my hand pain! I sent the GE1s back. They did not have even close to the quality feel of the GA1 with its metal lock on. After 100s of rides, those are still good. Just need a hard cleaning occasionally to keep them sticky. I use water and cleaning vinegar. I will probably try the GA3, although I'm looking at the Bontrager version of the same thing.

I prefer a slightly thicker section at the end of the grip, and a stopping point at the inside edge of the grip, i find it gives a good reference point either side and prevents lateral slip off in more gnarly situations. None of these really have both but the ODI's. The ODI's i run have even more on both edge and it works great.
