To me personally, all the negatives you mention are actually positives. When I convert a set of soft-tip barrels to steel, I usually want to bump the weight up by 4g or so. Also, the additional weight at the front should help lift the tail up a bit, which I prefer when throwing steel vs. the flat entry angle that works best for soft-tip. Finally, as you mentioned, the added length brings typically short soft-tip barrels up to the usual length range for steel barrels. A well thought out product IMO. Going to order some of these to try out. Thanks for the great review!

This is exactly what I’ve been looking for. Some darts I have are only offered in one weight (Glaring at you, GLD Viper Sinisters). By using this system I can buy the soft tip darts and achieve the lighter (but heavier than the soft) version I wanted in the first place, now if they only offered a smooth option…. I own those in 24g.. probably my least favourite dart of the 100 or so I own. I've never been able to appreciate Viper products.

Yeah, these would be perfect for something like that. I have an old set of Unicorn Bob Anderson soft tip darts that I love but they are WAY too short and way too light. A system like this can turn them into a regular set of darts that I can actually play with.

If I had soft tips that I wanted to convert to a steel tip, I would definitely get these in a heartbeat. I think the reason they don’t include the Swiss tips is because there are so many different Swiss tips to choose from. Thanks for the video as always.

I already change the points in other conversions and there are good looking collars that are cheaper like Shot and Unicorn.

That system is very good for the manufacturer. Roughly 20 Money for converter stuff and somewhere around 5 more for the swiss points set. Normal converter points are usually cheaper.... Win win situation 😃 And of course those things dont mess with the darts, because the difference is minor, despite what those internetexperts tell you. At max 1 hour practice and you get the usual results with the "drastically" changed darts.... Try for yourself: Use 3 completely different darts to play a session. I tried with: 10g ADTS, 23g Razor Edge, and 38g Assassin darts. Very interesting results. And alot of fun on the way.

I'm really glad someone has done this video, unfortunately, you've thrown them on a brand new set of darts (granted you don't do a lot of soft tip stuff) so it's really hard to find a point of difference (no pun intended). Great thing though you've mentioned the weight and length and potential balance issues, and for someone who would want to use these I don't think using their standard soft barrel is going to work more often than not, the super front weight at someone who throws at 18gm is just not going to have a good time, perhaps at the heavier scale of soft darts (now going up to near 23gm with the Trinidad Gomez 14) it won't be so noticeable. I initially thought this was a solution to a problem nobody had, and in typical Target fashion they've made a way to profit from it, but you've shown with especially hard-to-get barrels in Steel (certainly in some Asian brands and markets) you can get a set brand new, add these and you'll never know the difference.

I'm still so confused on these... not about them at all, just if I want them. Part of me feels like I need them in my collection more than me actually wanting them. lol Oddly enough, the biggest selling point on them for me is the all black SP tool. I think I'll hold off, but I'll be damned if I see them for like $10 one day, I'll definitely grab them.

It's easy enough to remove the white paint from the Swiss tool. 😂

Great and informative video here. Me personally I would use a normal Mission conversion point. As you mentioned these things are expensive, heavy, and long. I suppose for some people they would be an advantage adding weight and length. After all they still get to use their normal soft tip barrel they are use to using. Overall too expensive for me

Mission makes a nice conversion point for sure. Plenty of other ones out there to choose from. You'd figure for $25 they could toss in a set of points.

@@WorldwideDarts I couldn’t agree more! Target is all about the money anyway. This is the entire reason they created Swiss points in the first place. A point designed to break in a certain spot so they could use their tool to extract the broken piece. Nobody needed replaceable points like this. All you ever need is a repointing tool.

Hello, I enjoy following your videos. Really useful and enlightening. I have two questions. The old winmau cyclone set var points are unusable. Do you recommend Target or should I buy another point? Is 34mm good? My second question is that I am thinking of buying an mvg set. If I want to change the points, how many mm and what should I buy?

It makes sence if you got an amazing set of soft darts, but you want to play steel darts too, but on the other hand, price and target does already offer beauty converter points, so why should I want swiss points if I play soft darts, if I got swiss points, I already get a great set of steel darts. It would make much more sence to add a set of great swiss points, beacause then they would catch those soft dart player, because then they would move from soft to steel darts. But at the moment I don't see a reason to buy this. I love the idea, I really do, but the price is not fair. If I were target I would include them for free in some soft dart sets. Then they would get a huge impact.

Got a set. Not a fan. Adding 7mm/4g and changing the balance point of my darts makes me not a fan. I love the concept though but i'll just stick to regular conversion points.
