If you have a couple of days in Cappadocia, you MUST go on a hot air balloon ride! It was our favorite thing to do in Cappadocia and maybe even Turkey (the trip continues...)! Follow our journey across Turkey here: instagram.com/worldwildhearts/

What was the cost of hot air balloon?
@worldwildhearts3 жыл бұрын
Depending on the company you choose. We paid a little more because we chose an 8-person balloon and with the most reputable company in town. There are companies offering for as low as 60-80€ but they might have up to 30 people in the balloon

The best video! I’ would like to know few things about the landing.. do they land from where we take off? and is sept good month to visit turkey?
@worldwildhearts Жыл бұрын
No you don’t land in the same place because the wind pushes the balloon in any direction that it’s going that day. For us, we landed in a very different spot but it depends on the amount of wind. With little wind, you might land not too far! September is a great time! Enjoy ☺️

Had a friend on a tour there some 5 years ago. One of the guests fell out as they made a rought landing and he was crushed and killed under the basket. At that time I followed up on accidents there. There are many, but they are mostly hushed down by police and authorities, always claiming that the tourist must have done something wrong. This guy must have been standing up taking photografs, they said. But he wasn't. So as it was his own fault, it is not in the statistics.

I need more info on the safety of these please!

That's really tragic to hear. It's a shame that such incidents aren't more openly discussed. It's super important to prioritize safety, especially when it comes to activities like hot air ballooning. Thanks for sharing your friend's experience!

Wow, that sounds really tragic! It's concerning how accidents like that get brushed under the rug. Safety in these activities is super important, and it's always good to hear different experiences to keep everyone aware.

I cannot go on roller coasters in Magic Mountain or Universal Studios, Hollywood since I am afraid of going down too fast & suddenly! I can’t hike up the mountain either since high elevation makes me like fainted. However, I can fly in an airplane in 16 hours. Do you think I can handle hot balloon rides? Also it seemed they didn’t let you go to the restroom since the time they pick you up at your hotel until they drive you home , which might be like 3 hours, did you? Please let me know asp since I might go to Cappadocia soon. Thank you so much!
@worldwildhearts2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for reaching out! If you’re afraid of heights, then the hot air balloon might not be for you. You go quite high up in the air and there is open air around you. Although you do go very slow the whole time, so it is relaxing that way compared to a roller coaster. In terms of your bathroom question, we did have the option to use the bathroom at the meeting point prior to getting on the balloons. Then the balloon ride lasted about 1 hour. So in total, you would be away from the bathroom for about two hours including the car ride to and from the balloon central meeting point in town.

I have limitation with my left knee due to a recent surgery…..do you think I will be helped in getting into the basket? Is there a ladder that can help me climb on the basket?
@worldwildhearts2 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the late reply! Yes, im sure they will help you get into the basket if needed. There was a ladder for us to get in and the staff also helped us up to make sure we didn’t get hurt. To be extra sure, we recommend sending the company you book with an email prior to your flight. Let them know about your knee and they will note it for the flight
