Hi! I'm that guy from the "Totally Obsessed" thing you may have seen either on VH-1 back in the proverbial day, standalone on KZbin, or in one of the many, many KZbin shows (most notably H3 productions) in which the hosts have fun mocking me and expressing abject disbelief at my marital status!
2020, while arguably the greatest tire fire of a year in my lifetime, is also the 40th anniversary of the E'er-Hungry E'er-Round E'er-Yellow Circle Of All-Consuming Wonderfulness, so I've crafted an audio love letter in His honor, which I'm releasing on vinyl, CD, cassette (why?) and digital formats.

I heavily relate to the Pac-Man obsession. Even to this day its my dream to own a Pac-Man cabinet. I own Pac-man on several platforms, but anything that isn’t a proper arcade joystick doesn’t feel quite right.

They didn't MAKE me...I did (and do) like Pac-Man an awful lot (note the collection on the wall behind me in this here video.) But I'm obnoxious when given an audience and I have a weird sense of humor, so I did go somewhat over-the-top for attempted comedic purposes. I didn't realize that through the magical power of television, people would assume that this was how I was all the time. "Reality" television assures you that what you're seeing is the truth, and that you can extrapolate the full story from the pieces it gives you. As such, I was pissed when the thing first aired, as it definitely seemed to be edited together in a way that seemed geared toward making me look somewhat scary and/or pathetic. But in retrospect, I've warmed to it...people have been sharing this clip for 17 friggin' years, so I can't deny that it's compelling entertainment. TL;DR: PAC-MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN

Do you play Super Smash Bros.? If so, is Pac-Man your main?

Honestly I can't get into Super Smash Bros. I love the goofiness of everybody-vs.-everybody but from an actual playability standpoint it doesn't interest me. "Ultimate" in particular frustrates me - the input lag is horrible. I will say the "Pac-Land" level is clever as hell, though I have a hard time concentrating on navigating the background while also endeavoring to beat the everloving crap out of whoever I'm fighting.

I like how the comments of that video had mainly ppl disrespecting you, but to be honest, you weren't hurting anyone, you was just a collector and a fan of the franchise who would go to the arcade sometimes and play the game. Most people compared you to the Sonic Doppelganger of yours, but to be REALLY fair, you are the complete opposite. Thanks for the kind words. Who is this Sonic Doppelganger of which you speak? Loved the first Pac-Man World (which is also my favorite Pac-Man 3D game.) The second frustrated me and I eventually gave up. Never played the third, weirdly, though I've heard good things.

@@wormquartet It is a guy named "chris-chan", he had done terrible things because of his sonic obsession to a point he actually got trouble with the law, it's kinda a sad story. Oh I really recommend you check out the third game, the second one is indeed frustrating and kinda annoying at sometimes, but the third one is so lore heavy... I admire you liked the first game too, it was a really good start to the pacman world series. Wish they continued it and never made PATGMA...

I guess the simple answer is that while I was never as single-mindedly obsessed as the video portrayal would indicate, I still have a good-sized collection of Pac-Man games and memorabilia and an abiding love for the Great Yellow One.
