I never knew my dad. I turned 18 my Mom left my town to be with her friend and have children. Suddenlyhad the opportunity to live with him and find out what kind of person he was. Finally when I was about to find what was missing from my life we couldn't see each other even when we were two Chambers away. Was it me or something was really wrong. This song reminds me of my route to seek what I never had but maybe I must search for what I must fight for...

interesting, did they tour the USA before 1976? I find it interesting the timing because shortly after Judas Priest releases the album Point of Entry... it sounds like they had some influence from Budgie, specially from the song "Pyramids" from 1973

In 1978 I was 13 years old, a friend had the album Best of Budgie, he put it on and I was hooked. He said to me "ever heard of Budgie", of course I hadn't. I bought the album myself, I am now 55 and I don't know how many times I have repeated "have you ever heard of Budgie". Every single person I have played Budgie to fall in love with it. I have two kids,21 and 24 and they both love Budgie, plus everything else I listen to, Sabbath, Priest,TOOL, Led Zep, you name it they love it. Took them to see Sabs last show in 2013 and to TOOL Feb this year. I am so blessed to have kids that love what their dad listens to. My father was a Johnny Mathis fan, so you can imagine his horror when I played my stuff :( Dad and I were best friends and work mates for 40 years, never could convert him, but I have it with my kids. Truly blessed for that.

25+ years ago, a curious girl would rummage through various vinyls and cassettes my grandfather accrued when he worked for MCA, discovering all sorts of music. I'll never forget stumbling across Budgie, and how their music spoke to me. This band has, and will continue to stick with me. Man, I love this band.

You were lucky to have him as a grandfather. You couldn't have been exposed to better music! I've loved Budgie since their first album came out. I had an English boyfriend who turned me on to them. I'll always be grateful for that.

A song that really resonates with me, being 24 and turning 25 next month, still living at home, grappling and struggling between truly growing up and moving out on my own and hanging on to the very last remains of my childhood, still living with with my parents.

I totally agree! They were one of THE heavy metal bands in the 70's & I had all their albums... What can I say? I'm a classic rock junkie, now & forever!
