ngl I thought one of the reasons you don't wear gloves while feeding them was going to be environmental, like the amount of gloves needed for feeding vs just for health checks and such is huge! also agree that so long as your hands and clean and rinsed, it's safer than them eating bits of the gloves. hopefully the wormy boy is feeling better and everything he peed on survived

Whites are a whole bowl of chaotic energy😂 I frog sat my friends for a few months while she moved house. One of hers (Doughball) was exactly like Kewi and Berry😂 even changing their water was a battle field😂 one time while feeding, she grabbed the paper towel as well as her food. Spent a good 20mins fighting her to let it go🤦🏼‍♀️

Super adorable frog! They love food and they love you! She's so sweet sitting there so nice (except for the pee part.) They also know they are cute and they will get away with anything including eating your fingers! And they like the attention from their mom!

I know everyone has their own opinion. I had twin sons years ago. One of these little guys I had trouble getting him to eat enough to thrive. The other twin would eat until he threw up when I attempted to burp him. Bad comparison, I know. It did bring to me the question of will these frogs get to a point where they will regurgitate instead of dying? These little guys are just too damn cute - lol

It happens when having frogs tapeworm (sparganosis) has been found in this species. They get this frog things that was either q food source that carried tapeworm food that was fed to bugs like fruits in the wild and frogs eating bugs that were eating that fruit as an example. This is the only species of parasites that I know of that will burrow into the frogs skin and live as long as the frog gets fed the tapeworm gets fed aswell. Baths might help out and disinfection of the tank and paper towels as bedding will prevent reoccurance. As the vet if you can use malenite green 2mg per litter. If you can give frogs medicine baths every 2 weeks or do 10 day treatments then wait a week then another round the medications go by the frogs weight so you'd have to weigh the frog out for a safe dosage. Theirs a variety of anitparasitic medications out there. One example of sucess against Saprolegniasis is in veterinarian studies...benzalkonium chloride 0.25 milligrams per litter for 72 hours baths. Or 2milligramans per liter for an hour bath 24 hours total to complete the treatment. This was found in vetinarian text books I own and kept for long time and ask a vet if it's safe to do

Methylene blue is very good and safest medicine to use if the frog is big 4 mg per liter for one hour baths till you reach 24 hours total and stop. Must I add theirs 2 differnt forms of (sparganosis) causing crocic inflammation by the naked eye they will burrow out by the hind legs or whatever is moist between the frogs armpits legs or fat cells they live in till the worm is killed.

People who say "you need to feed them more" most likely only ever owned dogs and cats. For the most part exotics like amphibians, repts, inverts, etc don't eat as much as basic animals ESPECIALLY if they get a large prey item

Hey Jessica i have A Quick Question, I have had whites Tree frogs For Almost A Year Now And They Recently Stopped eating, i feed them super worms, they havent eaten in a month. every day since they stopped i have been trying to get them to eat but they just wont, i feed them with tongs so i would always see when they eat, please im getting really worried, and they are not losing weight either

Now I'm wondering a few things: 1) can humans get the parasites? (For example, bird flu is transferable to humans and other animals because of close contact), 2) if so, could that be what motivates them to bite you or try to eat your fingers? 3) is there no medicine or cure for the parasites? 😢

Hey ! I have a question ,I bought a bigger heating mat for my leopard gecko because I got a new tank for him ,it’s a zoo med 30-40 g one and I’m not sure if it’s warm enough.i have a thermostat and it reads 91-96F depending on how I’m putting it but once I scan it with my thermostat heat gun it reads 78-85F max .so I was just wondering if it’s not strong enough?,do I need a more powerful mat?,or which one should I believe when it comes to reading the temp.i use coconut fiber dirt and there really isn’t that much to say heat can’t go through it so I’m not sure what’s the issue .Pls help🥲
