@John M Yeah😂 Her friend looked like she was being held at gunpoint throughout the entire thing. Even before the answer was given. It's like she had lost a bet or owed some bad people a couple of grand, and after days of failing to find the cash her friend had a last chance bright idea to go on pointless and win the money. So all that was going around her head the entire time was "we've got to win or else I'm dead, we've got to win or else I'm dead, we've got to win or else I'm dead" And then the "paris-gate" happened and "we've got to win or else I'm dead" changed to "oh fuck, no you didn't!!!" 😆

@jamesfinucane11996 жыл бұрын
I thought that too at first, but watching this again I think she's just thinking in a very visible way, and the eye-rolling is just her scanning mentally through countries of the world. I mean she's rolling her eyes almost constantly, it's systematic, crossing a map. If it was cos she hated her she'd be hamming up the eye-rolls at the slightly cringey things her mate says, but she doesn't really react directly to anything until her answer. It was one heck of a terrible answer though, so if she didn't hate her before she probably does now anyway! (Did it get them knocked out in the end?) I wonder if she got some mental wordjam in her head with the context making consonant and continent get confused,and then she just panicked.

The mother blurted out February all smiling and then she looked at the question again, changed her face and said oh sorry 28, but then Alexander said Im sorry I have to take your first answer. The woman became all teary eyed and almost started crying on tv. She would have been through to the next round if she got the answer right. James Bond actors: "Joe Dan Baker, Bernard Lee, and that other one who took over from him. Topol. I'm sure he was in two. Unless it was that other bloke. Maude Adams, did I tell you what she said to that little bloke out of Fantasy Island? What? Oh, yes, later. Remind me on. Charles Gray. Yes he was. No, he was playing someone else in the one set in Japan. No, not Blofield, he was Blofeld in the other one. Thanks, I missed that, I wanted to know how many said Bernard Lee. I'm not sulking. I'm _thinking_ . Sean Connery. I KNOW!!!"

She only studied Geography up to A-Level - she doesn't have a degree in it. And presumably she didn't study English Language beyond GCSE either. You can't really expect her to know that Paris isn't a country, or what a consonant is.

Without looking these up: My two or more James Bond movie starring go to would be Richard Kiel - probably not pointless, but not being a main star and being two older movies would probably be single figures I know Spencer Perceval is the only British PM to be assassinated, so that would have been my choice on the list. I know Mary, Queen of Scots was married to a Stuart and James VI and I is her child, but not sure of which husband or first name. The first -IBE word that came to mind was Imbibe - probably get 80 points. Most obscure US state I can think of with a coastline is Rhode Island. And for the last one I'd go with an "Island" country, probably Solomon Islands.

First thought was Rowan Atkinson but I don't believe his was an official Bond movie, I would go for Joe Don Baker. Harvey Milk for the Sean Penn role as JFK is too obvious. Diabtribe was my word. That's a good one. Virginia was mine. Probably not pointless but my first thought was Greenland. It's often forgotten in my experience because it's attached to the North Pole by ice.
