New sub here . Good to finally hear a channel prepared to discuss the trespass laws and its effects on van life. I tried bringing this up on some big channels in 2020 but no one wanted to know . There is 100% an attack on alternate lifestyles, I've been living in my van 12 yrs , it's never been harder or as expensive and there is definitely a stigma these days, more so if your a solo male . I've also seen the other side , the part time van jokers that leave human and dog waste and rubbish and broken glass etc , sickening . If you are thinking of getting into it think carefully beforehand.

This bill is just the start I would think and when the agenda is fully installed, then I think vanlife and all related activities will be over. Unfortunately the two tier police will zealously apply the new laws, as its easier and less dangerous for them knowing that folk will move on readily, rather than lose their vehicles. Only those with no ties to this country like no family or job to worry about, will benefit by escaping abroad but even then, most will have to move zones after 90 days. Have you noticed how popular properties and land for off grid life has become in Portugal? Great stuff but even that will probably subject to unwelcome changes of rules and laws after 2030. Shite times ahead folks, getting worse by the day.

Really feel for you guys, we're not van lifers but we feel people should be able to live their lives as they see fit. Is this the method the gov are going to use to get van lifers out of their vans and into smart cities?

"as they see fit"-sorry; however, the usual laws of the UK apply regardless. I'd love to live my life as I see fit, but I need to pay tax, NI, MoT, speed limits, empty my toilet onto the street, put out chairs and awning swherever I want, etc. If you are on someone's land and they don't want you there, it's criminal trespass - same as a tent camper as it is for a van camper. Refuse to move, and it's a criminal offence. If people feel intimidated by multiple vans in a car park (and it happens in one of the local car parks that I actually placed onto Park 4 Night, where multiple vans park up, awnings out, fires on, BBQs out, music blasting, and take up over half the area), then I honestly believe that locals have a right to complain. They can't use the facilities due to the ignorance and inconsiderate behaviour of others. The FB forums are littered with people who think the law doesn't apply to them, and they can be as selfish as they want (and I'm not including the OP in this, BTW). Hence, laws like this are being introduced, more areas being barriers or closed down or prevented from overnight camping. Use it respectfully, or it will be removed.

@@andrewmillerphotography channels such as this one are very responeable in what they do and where they go and I'm. Sure they would not trespass onto land etc . Sadly you do get some people who think I don't want riff raf in my area . I personally don't have an issue with van lifers it's just another way of living to me . If the police councils etc are going to be doing this then they needs to be a full engagement with everyone plus give options where can lifers etc can go what services they have and so on . I'll like to know the police force who acted as they did we have major issue's just now and they look like they are misusing resources under possible political orders . If it's councillors or and MPS playing games I want names so we can question and take them to task . Van lifers are people like the rest of us and hsve rights too .

I'm saying any other people who have vans are totally disrespectful in the attitude they have towards doing what they want, regardless of the impact on others. Again, the FB forums are full of self-centred, selfish idiots who think that because they have a van or live in a van, then the usual laws and norms of society don't apply to them. Unless we, as a community (van owners, van dwellers) are more respectful the facilities and access will be removed.

Hi just come across your v blogs We are Motorhomes not full time and I can see it from both sides , to be honest I wouldn’t like to see Motorhomes parked in front of my home either and definitely not in a side street as you shown , you video at the side of motorhomes showing they don’t leave rubbish or empty there black waste , looking back at one of your videos that you show doing a full van service on your own van on a PUBLIC Highway and have oil spillage and diesel spillage which is illegal and you go on that your a respectable van lifer If you had done that at the front of my home I can tell you I would of had the police involved I would take that video down

We have a huge problem with campervans on the NC500, they just stop wherever they want not just in people's gardens but in grave yards and dumping their toilets amongst the graves. The Scottish government is bringing in new laws to stop this. Local councils have had to close all lay bays that back onto private houses because caravans and camper vans would pull up late at night and dump their rubbish and toilets into people's gardens. It's time something was done by the authority to sort this problem out because it's not just a minority now that's being arrogant and selfish.

@@Roadshome Freedom to take up private fence posts and cut down trees for firewood, freedom to park wherever you like and dam who owns the land, free to empty your toilets into people's gardens and grave yards, freedom to damage private property because your tourists and you think we need your money. There now has to be control on how people like you come to our places we live in to stop the damage that's been done, 20 years ago there wasn't any problem with tourists and were welcomed with open arms, but now with the NC500 it's gone mad, from those who can't drive over 30mph who have no idea how to drive on single track roads to those who race around the circuit in groups to see how fast they can get round and sod the animals wild and farm that get in the way. We've campaigned to get laws introduced to stop people using grave yards as toilets and to camp in, that's been passed and getting introduced next year, we are now campaigning to get our main road classed as a clearway to stop dangerous and inconsiderate parking which there's no excuse as there are plenty of sites for people to use. You've brought it on yourselves because you think you own everything and you're entitled to do whatever you want.

I got a knock from two police officers whilst parked up in a beautiful forest in the middle of a very very remote area, no houses for miles. I didn't get served any notice, but they were nosey, and advised I move on within a week, I chose to leave that day, as my mental health took a hit due to this experience

Boat life is being attacked too, licence increases. Less services, and less places to moor. Lots of stoppages in the north due to no maintenance and the south is over run with boaters. Got hit by a drunk Boater the other night, and there was nothing I could do about it. I was moored up on an extremely wide stretch and no other boats around...seem to feel it's been done on purpose
