I remember being really excited when this figure went up for preorder, but cancelled it after seeing early reviews. I have way too many McFarlane figures and sadly feel like a sucker for it. Not all are terrible, but you get what you pay for. I normally get them on clearance, but I still feel ripped off by the lack of quality. Rather than card stands, I would like to see that go into the engineering budget. What needs to happen to get better figures that are cohesive with others in the same line? I gotta imagine that Todd isn’t making all decisions for this toy line, but he probably has final say. I think he should get somebody new in there to manage things. I’m a dumb collector so I can’t help myself. Since this is our only option, I’m doing what a lot of folks are doing and getting the new WW, and Red Tornado, and Animal Man…but don’t we deserve better? Sorry for the rant. Great review as always!

yeah, the articulation is a big one for me as well. I like the line, but the ab crunch and hips that never seem to work as intended on every figure is just embarrassing. Who does that?

I’m at the point where I don’t see DC Multiverse as a “line”. I see it as a series of individual, stand alone-figures. Trying to universe build or even team build is virtually pointless with the uneven quality and character selection. Since adopting this philosophy, my purchases are few and far between, but at least I’m genuinely happy with the few figures I do purchase. Deadman, Knightfall Batman, Knightfall Catwoman, Blue Beetle (Ted Kord), Flash (Berry Allen), Alan Scott, Firestorm, and Hawkman are all figures I picked up this year that I’m very pleased with. Kara Zor-El is my favorite DC character next to Huntress, but there’s no way I’m supporting such blatant laziness and apathy.

I totally get it man. I feel the exact same way. I swear, if given the opportunity... I'd snap at the chance to QA for them. Just seeing the product actually improve within the next wave would feel like a million bucks directly deposited back into my nerd wallet. 😅

Well you can't say anything about what you get for what you pay, look at the Black Widow figure from legends which was sold for 28 usd. It's just McFarlane don't give attention to female figures. That's a fact. I have that dc icons supergirl which I got it for 19 usd around 2016.

Honestly I got it on sale for 9.99 and that’s what I find to be a good price for it but I feel really bad for those who paid full price for it

I hate that this figure is limited to Target. Supergirl from Rebirth should not be an exclusive figure to any store.

1:48 I could see Vanna White. Ali Larter first came to mind for me. I don’t mind the arms but to obsess about seams on the torso is more than nitpicky Overall, it still looks nice even with its flaws - nowhere near the worst

I love blondes and all but man, It feels like Todd has no control over these figures or artwork because I love the head and bright colors for Kara Zor-El aka Suergirl but the body reuse does suck especially the Knightfall Catwoman parts and hopefully they do a regular release.

I loved this figure. The head really reminds me of Helen slater. My big gripe would be no thigh boots, but it’s a fantastic figure otherwise.

I just cherry-pick McFarlane Multiverse figures. A few are absolute home-runs, but so many just feel like they cut too many corners. This one is an extreme case-in-point. I'd call 2/5 generous.

I prefer the soft goods capes since my family could sow it so I can wire it for and then can have it in any direction. The plastic capes hinder how you can pose the figures. I would have given her a soft goods skirt . Also the hair blonder for her and the video game version. The flight and regular stands are definitely a plus! They fit with neca, Hasbro Star Wars and marvel figures.

You hit all the highs and lows of this figure! We need consistency. I loved all the customs we saw of this figure. That is the ugliest f-ing skirt I've ever seen. -Mean Girls / Regina George. I like fabric especially with my Barbies but fabrics that bleed and transfer to the plastic! Hell no! It’s really a nightmare to get off. 2/5.

Excellent review. You are right on. This is the laziest and worst Mcfarlane figure yet, and I’m a big fan of this line. The skirt was glued to her thigh and her hair popped off when I tried to turn her head around. A very big disappointment.

Glad that I got this figure for free. Did a return on the Target app, and they said i could keep it. Just noticed that the bio on the back of the trading card card has a typo. Mispelled "imprisond"

I was so excited when I heard we were getting a Supergirl and THEN...McFarlane has complained that female character's figures don't sell but then you look at Poison Ivy and Classic Wonder Woman and it's almost like female characters will sell if it's what people want. I want another Supergirl that is more like the Icons version. It was right there, showing you the way.

When Mcfarlane makes a good figure they make a really good figure but I wish somehow Hasbro could somehow get the liscense, it would suck to start a whole new Dc collection but Hasbro just makes better figures especially if it’s based on a movie the liscense is fantastic and if Hasbro made Dc figures I would display them together

I know Todd is trying to keep the price down by not using plastic in places that aren’t normally visible on a figure (she just has a plastic knob in place of a Super-butt) but Todd, I’ll give you another 6 cents to cover the cost. Times must really be hard over at the McFarlane Rodeo Ranch-aroo….

It's strange seeing McFarlane go from a company with a reputation for making figures with little to no reused parts, to a company that'll go out of its way to reuse stuff even if it doesn't work. All in the space of about a year. They still do tons of new parts but it's an odd shift to be sure. The Catwoman figure they put out recently has a lot of the same problems as this one, since they both reuse Catwoman parts and hope you don't notice the boot and glove tops. To avoid this they could've just made new biceps and thighs. reuse the rest of the arms and legs. It's still parts being used for 2 figures, and could even be used for future female characters. Those new parts would have definitely been worth the investment. Then we would all be saying they reused the parts smartly, instead of complaining about how distracting it is on both those figures.

You must be new to McFarlane because he was the king of repaints back in the day. Series 1 spawn alone had 22 repaints/variations. There were so many repaints and variants back in the day that it wasn’t funny. There was a spawn figure for pretty much every color of the rainbow. Todd knows how to do reuses so he can make money for new stuff.

You could have given this figure a 2/10 and I wouldn’t have considered it too harsh. It’s not so much the figure itself as it is the principle. This is basically a lazy custom in production figure clothing. We deserve better, and we should expect better.

Ah, that is a kitbash I made combine the head and upper torso of the Atomic Skull two pack Superman with the arms and lower body of Hush Superman.

Too harsh, not right on the money. Aside from the boots going all the way up to her underwear, she's fine. Not (no pun intended) super great, but not terrible either. In a museum pose at a distance on the shelf next to one's Action Comics 1000 Superman or Hush Superman she looks great. Not all figures are going to be a 10 out of 10 like the new Wonder Woman or the Batman from Earth -22. I'd say at least a 3 out of five.
