Surprised that Ingrid Bergman and Peter Lindström isn't on the list. The scandal around Bergman's affair and pregnancy by director Roberto Rossellini got worldwide attention

I agree. And the fact that Ingrid was exiled from Hollywood ! Her "debut' film in 1956 Anastasia won her the Oscar. Personally, I think her exile was a blessing in disguise. Ingrid was afforded a level of freedom in her craft that showcased her extraordinary talent. Till this day she remains one of my all time favourite actresses.

Please don't blame Marilyn Monroe's career, Joe DiMaggio was often cruel to her. He would with hold affection from her when he became angry for the smallest infraction as for Arthur Miller he wasn't by any means in love with Marilyn he only married to further his ambition. Miller treated more like a child and would often berate her for being clingy and childish. She was abused as a child and as an adult. My grandmother knew her.

It takes two. Marilyn wasn’t innocent either. She and Joe were not a good match from the beginning. Arthur Miller as you said wanted her for publicity but she wanted him so that people would take her seriously. And as for her flings with Kennedy (or Kennedys) did she honestly believe either would leave their wives and kids for her?

@@suekelley2109 No, it doesn't take two, you've been groomed by society to believe that. One person can make it miserable for the other whether it be the woman or a man. Marylin was mentally unstable and put her trust in the wrong men believing they had her best interests at heart. All she really wanted was love and children which she didn't have either. My grandmother was a good friend to her and remarked how she was able to be two different people on and off the screen. She was insecure and scared that she wasn't worthy of being loved.

@suekelley2109 , so you're blaming her for his abusive behavior? Why should she give up her career to boast his ego? As for the Kennedys, who forced their womanizing? Were they that weak that they couldn't resist having s*x with anything that moved?

Karma got Eddie Fisher..since his career went downhill, she was footing his bills-when she went to Italy to film Cleopatra, she met and fell in love with Richard Burton, who was totally opposite to Fisher. She divorced Fisher and married Burton.

I grasp Burton. I hold some of those traits -not abusive, violent, nor alcoholism-- yet it is found charming and exciting by females frequently

@@lmj929 Marilyn was a fragile creature, who never acted with malice. Narcs like DiMaggio always assume everyone else knows what they want and will give it to them. That Marilyn had her own needs didn't matter to him.

It is amazing how many of these marriages were physically and emotionally abusive. Standard practice in marriages of the times. For those of you in states where reproductive rights are banned or severely restricted, please be aware that laws on domestic violence and child abuse/neglect are also being neutralized or repealed altogether.

Because the Fisher-Reynolds split was compared to the Fairbanks-Pickford divorce. Unfortunately, the pictures of the latter were shown too soon and so didn’t quite match the narrative.
