One time my hairdresser soaked my hair after I told her to not get it wet, then ripped through my hair with no detangler. Told me how terrible my hair was, how bad she felt for me, then absolutely RUINED my hair cut. She ended up quitting her job after my dad went in there and stood up for me.

Kevin the MVP and lounging Lord is back, marvelous! He's such a lovely and kind soul, a perfect companion for Kris! The compliments hit home Kris, I'm sitting here sick after corona on week 5 and haven't been in to the hair salon since early February... Nearly nothing except near invisible hair on the top, a hair crown with what feels like the back half of a mullet. But my gods woman, what have you done with your hair! You're absolutely gorgeous like that also, just a gala gown from a red carpet event. Watching you explain how the first woman should deal with the home coloring accident by putting the hair in pigtails, I got a mental image how you'd look in pigtails just below the shoulders. I wonder how that would actually look like. I really enjoyed the reaction, the constructive criticism really sold it! The examples of your work was amazing, well done! If I could be so bold as requesting a reaction, I'd like to see your reactions to Lock Picking Lawyer's April Fools videos! They really cracks me up and could be interesting as try not to laugh, perhaps? Your videos are very helpful and comforting to me in these times. Happy travels, take care and stay safe.

My sister has stomach-length hair, and went to a hairdresser asking for an ombre from her natural light brown into blue. The lady bleached and colored a straight line across the bottom 2 inches of hair (which for stomach-length hair is basically nothing) and then charged her $250. A couple months later school was about to start, and I offered to do her hair myself with nothing but my memory of various hairdresser youtubers and a $35 trip to Sally's Beauty. Dyed the colored hair back to as close to her natural color as I could, and then took some maroon-purple dye and attempted an ombre up to her collarbone. Frankly proud of it, it looked a lot better and she got several compliments on it from her classmates. So apparently I'm better at winging an ombre than that one random hairdresser?
@heatherduke77032 жыл бұрын
Right, why do these people go to school?? I had a professional spend 5 hours on two separate occasions to make my hair pink and it just turned out orange both times. I did it myself every time after that and ended up with pink hair after 45 minutes and $7 at Sally’s 🙄

I dyed my hair a gorgeous shade of purple once when I was 16. My father flipped out on me and got some random lady from our neighborhood to come over and bleach it. Long story short, she killed all of my hair. And it was a LOT of hair, down to my waist. So in retaliation I got a set of portable hair clippers, waited for my father to sit down to watch tv, walked in and without breaking eye contact with him shaved my head. Full Sinead O'connor. I thought he was going to burst an artery or something. Totally worth it though. I kept my head shaved for like 3 years after that. One, because he hated it and two, because it was so damn nice to have no hair. Ladies, I recommend shavings your head at once in your life. It's absolutely freeing and it feels amazing.

Seeing these horror stories makes me feel like I got lucky that my first ever highlights (in a salon, not home) came out okay. They grew out and I keep thinking if I want to make new ones but I hate how damaging the bleach is. I wish there was a non-bleach way of highlighting.
@maecruz43642 жыл бұрын
There “kinda” is, but it’s hella time consuming and a hassle to do. Photobleaching is a thing. Buy any type of hair lighting spray, and a silicone cap that’s specifically for hair dyeing/highlights. Proceed to use the cap to separate the strands you want to highlight and spray the lighting spray on them. Go out in the sun for some 20-30 mins (or the longer the better) and pretty soon (couple of weeks or so) you’ll start seeing results. Simpler method is to just straight up spray your entire hair without using the cap. The spray never makes it even but its usually a nice natural-ish looking result.

@godivagal12 жыл бұрын
There's a few, less damaging things I've done over the years. 1 lemon and sunshine. Works great for really natural looking highlights. 2 a product called sun-in. Spray it where you want it and let it do it's thing (follow package instructions) 3 peroxide. The same stuff you use to clean a cut, just dampen your comb with it and comb it through in the areas you want lighted, leave for a bit and then wash out. None of these methods will get you to white blonde (generally) but they will give you nice highlights.

Bangs or no bangs, you look great either way. I found your videos about 2 months ago and have been laughing ever since. They have helped me get through some rough times lately. Truth be told they've been the only thing that's made me smile at times. Thank you so much for that. I know being a content creator is hard. So, thank you for doing work that makes so many people smile on a regular basis. Sending so many hugs! Back in college I tried to color my hair and it came out so bad. I have naturally very dark brown (almost black) hair. I found a box of dye that said it was Auburn. I thought I could use it to make my hair a little lighter. Oh, it made the hair lighter all right. It turned a rather disturbing shade of orange. I had never colored my hair before, so I was bound to make a mistake. when I woke up the next morning, my eyes were so puffy I almost couldn't see. I don't know if it was a reaction to the hair dye, or the face mask I had done the day before. What made it even worse was that my mother still made me go to class. Good thing I was in the art department. Seeing crazy sights was pretty common. No one even looked twice. To this day I don't know if it was the dye or the mask that made me puff up. However, both the hair dye and mud mask were discontinued some time back (I don't know exactly when). Guess I'll never know the answer.

PLEEASE Kris react & educate on more hair videos. All genders need this info desperately with all the amateur tutorials out there making people think if so & so did it then they can. I bet some of those tutorials didn't turn out like the reveal photos until after the person went to salon to get color correction or professional cut. Would absolutely adore if you'd give some questions that a person should ask a hair dresser & maybe even reveal what a certain answer may mean or if hair dresser starts to do a certain thing when you asked for Balayage so maybe the person can prevent an entire disaster that costs them a fortune! To save money, my mom got one of those highlight kits that you can find in the hair color section. This was back in the early 2000s. The kit comes with this brush applicator that you use to apply the highlights. Well, she tried it on my hair and there were just clumps of blonde in my hair. It was so bad. Thankfully, I always wore my hair up back then.

Could we just take a moment to appreciate Kris’s compliments to us? It really helped today of all days because I realized that things that are/were going on at my house are not ok and that I need help. It just made me really depressed that I was living this, and realized that isn’t normal and that other people aren’t going through this. Your compliments always make my day no matter what I’m going through. Thank you. Just for the sake of it, Kris I love the new hairstyle. You’re rocking that Pixar mom hair and I love it. It also looks like you did something different with your makeup, and I’m all here for it. Once again, thank you.

I’ve recently had a bit of severe drama going on at school and all my “so called” friends have refused to talk to me for almost a month. Something about your personality makes our issues just melt away, your like a drug that’s free, and good for you, this really brightned up my life. Thanks so much!

I feel these women's pain. The last time I had my hair done, it was to get it lifted in an ombre style. I told the stylist I wanted the lifted hair to be a shade of auburn starting about halfway down, but she kept the chemicals in too long and turned my hair blonde with some sections almost touching my roots. I have naturally jet black hair. The darkest strand of lifted hair was honey and the lightest was platinum. I'm never going back to that salon.

Honestly, I learnt the hardway that some hairdressers don't know what they're doing. I asked a hairdresser to thin my hair (you know, using thinning sissors) because my hair is Thicc. We have thinning sizzors at home, but its always rough and awkward, doable, but I thought 'hell, I'll pay for a professional to thin my hair'. the Lady Layered my hair. I ended up with a mullet and I looked Dumb as fuck. Nothing against ppl with mullets, if you can pull it off then great. but I can't and I hated it. mum ended up cutting the long ends off, and I've just basically sworn off that one hairdresser because fuck that.

I actually dyed my hair 3 days ago (turned out the wrong color and patchy) and have been doing it up differently because of the green streaks in the burgundy. So, the complement means so hecken much.
