Chris, I have been struggling, and I mean really struggling with thinning and breaking hair for years. I ended up getting extensions almost two years ago and my natural hair just continued to get worse. Now, I’ve removed my extensions and I’m committed to following every single part of your hair care routine. I’m one week in and I already see a huge difference! After just one week, I’m in tears. I feel hope for the first time in a long time. Thank you for caring enough to make these videos - you are changing lives. ❤

I don't normally leave comments but... I love my bangs. I wash my hair every 3-4 days. Day 4 is usually dry shampoo in the morning and then wash at night. I use my flat iron to give my hair a little bump on day 1 after I wash and dry my hair. It lasts me until I need to wash. If it's crazy humid or I'm crazy sweaty I just pin them up with a bobby pin until wash day. I don't have oily skin and my hair is fine texture. My hairline is slightly receded. The bangs hide it and give me a little volume and interest which at my age ..I need.

I think bangs are really underrated. I also don’t think they are the big deal everyone makes of them either. I get them, get bored, grow them out, get them again. Right now I’m so bored with my style that I’m about to get them again. I agree that they give a little interest as we age!

I have had bangs my whole life since junior high. I am 40 now. I have naturally curly hair which I blow dry straight except for a few years I went to a curly stylist. You quoted Neil Gaiman! He's one of my all-time favorite authors. I was a youth librarian when "The Graveyard Book" was published, and subsequently won the Newberry. I was so glad he revisited youth-friendly fiction, despite being a massive fan of Sandman and his other adult works. It was truly a life and perspective altering read. ❤ Also, I'm one of the lucky jerks who can rock French cut curtain bangs, trim them at home, still have them grow, and they never get gross or dry. They suit my long face, dark hair, and personal aesthetic perfectly. I'm very lucky on that front. I'll take it, because life has kicked my ass on most other fronts. Fifteen years of bangs and a wolf-cut, and it somehow still kicks ass with zero styling. I'll accept my wins happily. 😊

Chris, thank you. A month ago, I was SO confused by anything involving hair - caring for it, the different hair types and products...I had no idea what I was doing and I was too overwhelmed to even start. My hair is super long and straight (24 inch), box dyed, oily at the roots and crazy dry at the ends. Although I do get lots of compliments on it, I had no idea how to take it to the next level and properly take care of it. I started with your easy tips (like double washing, not using too many products, figuring out my hair type and what products to get, tying my hair before going to bed...) and I noticed an immediate improvement. Then, I bit the bullet and purchased your recommended trinity products and I'm shocked at how good my hair looks. It's so clean, shiny, bouncy, soft, it's no longer dry at the ends (YAY, I don't have to cut to much off now!!) and I can now go up to 5 days between washes. Even my boyfriend noticed that it's more voluminous and I have less flyaways. Most importantly though, I was able to create a routine and stick to good habits thanks to the knowledge you share. It's surprisingly easy once you get in the habit of it and it's so rewarding to see the change. So thank you so much.

I've had bangs off and on my whole life and love them on me. On wash day I just blow-dry my bangs and let the rest of my hair air dry most times. Until next wash day, I brush my bangs one direction a few times, than the opposite direction, and shake my head. And my bangs are good to go! And at the end of a wash cycle, on those really greasy hair days before a wash, I just push my bangs back and wear a hat and messy bun sticking out. Love all your hair advice, your product suggestions have improved my hair so much, plus I save money, I don't need anything else!

Thanks for the videos! I’ve made some changes you’ve recommended for fine hair & have noticed a BIG improvement. I’m following the trinity routine, changed my brush and how I brush my hair. I’ve figured out how to properly use my hairbrush dryer - I hated it when I first got it and went back to my regular dryer - now I love it! Your video for fine hair has a lot of great info as well. I’m using a terry cloth lined hair cap (already had it, just didn’t use it) that I got from my local dollar store. I switched back to my satin pillowcase. I can’t get over how much these quick and simple changes in my routine have made to my hair. Even my teenaged boys (16/18) made a comments, out of the blue, on how much nicer my hair looks. Thank you so much for all your advice! Now, I have Elumen dye in my hair that I was thinking on growing out (I’m a 44 yr old women with lots of grey/white and dirty blond hair); it’s currently dark purple with light purple & a greyish purple pieces. I really love it but am wondering how bad is Elumen for my hair? With just a few inches grown out I don’t like how much my current natural colour ages me. I really don’t know anything about Elumen except that it gives me an awesome colour. What would you (or anyone) recommend?

I´ve got some good bang advice: How to avoid your bangs getting oily? Touch up your face with Powder in the afternoon, that way the oil on your forehead get´s trapped (or wash if you don´t use Make Up) How to style your bangs without heat? I personally put my bangs up in the night with some clips so they don´t get greasy. In the morning I spray them with a lil bit if water and then style them with a small round brush. You could tell she wanted to ring his neck lol She was super kind tho, gave me a 300 dollar gift card for future services or products. He was fired because he apparently didn't learn the the first time he did that to another client. 😖 Now I have major trust issues with hairdressers when I need a cut/trim. Getting bangs was the best decision I've ever made. I look cute with them and now I have half of my hair removed from my face (I have TOO much hair). My hair grows forward. So I was forced to wear it on a ponytail, a bun or a braid. Or else I would have half of it covering my face and inside my mouth 24/7. I was not able to wear my hair down. I had to learn how to take care of it, though, or it would look like a bird nest due to the tangles...that I don't have anymore. My skin is greasy but my hair is very dry, so I don't have problems with greasy bangs. They get moisture from my skin 😂My hair has a lot of volume, so they look good when I brush them to the side. I do that when we have hot weaves in summer, when I'm wearing certain clothes or the 4th day after I washed my hair (I wash it every 5 days). If you have greasy hair and greasy skin, don't wear bangs.

I've had bangs since summer of 2022 now. I still love them.😅 but the struggle is real. My hair is mid-back, coarse, and really wavy. What has really helped me is switching from a regular satin sleep bonnet, to a satin hair sleeve intended for braids. It has a stretchy tie and is super adjustable. It accommodates the length without having to pile it up on my head, and I can just slip it over my hair and then secure it with my bangs straight. Some days I don't even have to straighten them in the morning. I've also moved away from using the flatiron to spraying just the bangs with water and blow drying to straighten them. It's still heat, but it's less heat than a flatiron. I've not really had any trouble because they're getting trimmed so frequently.

Now, next step is growing it out and something tells me it's gonna be way easier than before. Thank you so much for all that you do! P.S.: I got these results after about 6 months and two minor trims.

My hair _is_ growing now. I am not completely sure if your tips started it or not but they sure did help. I have a lot of length now that I did not have before. My hair just would not grow before. At 57 years old I still have the strawberry blond color I was born with. I have never dyed my hair or bleached it. I've always left it my natural color except when I did the "sun in" thing when I was a teen. Curly hair needs a lot more maintenance than straight hair too and curly hair tends to be dryer so we have to be more careful to keep our hair in good shape.

I'd love to see you do a video on "natural", "organic" or "ecofriendly" brands. Like they sell at whole foods, co-ops, natural foods stores, etc. Some of them can be as expensive or more expensive than professional products. And most of them are not made by big corporations that are watering down their shampoos and conditioners and filling them full of chemicals. I'm sure many of them probably are just capitalizing on the "natural" and "organic" trends and as you mentioned in a pervious video, our hair doesn't eat food, so it doesnt have the same needs as our body at all. However, the main reason I'm asking is because I do care about the ecological and environmental impact of my consumable purchases, hair care included, but I'm wondering if trying to find a decent product that doesn't come in a disposal plastic bottle is just spelling disater for my goals of having beautiful looking hair. Would love to hear your thoughts.

I second the getting a trial hairdo done before the big day. I wish I would have done that for my wedding and ended up hating my hair. I liked that it was out of my face, but there was no volume whatsoever. In truth, I should have just done it myself...lol. I have been doing my own highlights and lowlights for a few years now and I always use a bonding conditioner right after. I'm usually lifting to a level 9 and I have very little breakage if at all when I use the bonding conditioner. So, yes, great advice! Thank you!

I have bangs. I love them. I have an oblong face shape and look awful without them. Regarding the oil and grease, I wash them. It's easy. I put all my hair except for my bangs in a terry-lined shower cap. I use about half a pea of shampoo, one time, and wash them. No conditioner. To dry them, I use a round brush (same big one that I use on my other hairs) and a blow dryer, it takes 30 seconds to dry them. The secret is to put the blow dryer facing down, so the air is going over your bangs. The nozzle is towards my nose with the back of the dryer towards the ceiling. It looks strange but it works terrific. I never ever use heat on my bangs with this blow dryer technique. My bangs are healthy and not dry and I wash them as needed. Bangs are great at hiding forehead wrinkles, too!

Hi Chris, are there are also differences for the care of gray hair? I am about 90% gray, but dye regularly midbrown. Since I am going through menopause, I have lost some hair. About 2-3 hours after my blowout I am a walking frizzy monster. Does the hair texture change just because it is gray now? Should I use these coarse hair products if so? I have been looking for the right hairdresser for years but so far I have not found anyone where I am totally satisfied with all services. Either they style great or they can cover my gray well. if i lived in the states i would book you guys directly but i live in germany and i like your videos a lot they are fabulous. thanks for this
@carinamolitor92 Жыл бұрын
Hi Selene, yes it does. Natural gray hair the outer layer is more open, which equals with more dry, like older skin often will be more dry and briddle. I think Hair Buddha here on KZbin has a Video where he explains it.

Love your videos. I’m following your protocol and people have commented that my hair looks different (it’s looks good and healthy). I’ve made a few mistakes (too much blow dry cream and applied incorrectly) bc of the learning curve but I think I’m slowly catching on. I just go back and rewatch the videos now until I’m confident I can do it on my own. I wash my hair once a week and usually only style it with an iron twice a week. Thank you for your content.

I've followed your advice for a while now with the trinity hair routine. It's done nothing for my hair :( it still gets greasy just as fast, and the fly aways from breakage are still wild. It also still feels quite dry in the mids to end. Any reasons it may not be improving?

Chris, you have literally SAVED my hair!!!! I'm on week 5 of using Olaplex 3 & Holy Moly....What a difference!!. I'm on week 3 of the Redken Shampoo for medium hair & again, MY HAIR LOVES IT!!!! I've been able to go 5-7 days between washing, using very little dry shampoo & no heat❤ For anyone reading this.....I'm in my mid 40's with long medium, curly highlighted hair. If not for trying these products out, I would've needed to cut 3 inches off😢. Even my hairdresser was amazed, considering how long my hair is. I recently had a full head of blonde foils done & my hairdresser was able to comb thru it with ease after toning. No breakage & minimal hair loss after each wash & style. Highly recommend watching this channel & using Chris recommended products❤

FYI.....I started repairing my hair with Olaplex 3, 4 1/2 wks prior to adding more highlights. I naturally hav blonde, brown & red in my hair, so thankfully, my highlights aren't too aggressive lol. I'm using the Olaplex from my roots to ends to ensure I don't miss any current or new damage. I always get the baleyage look, so I only need to do it once, Max twice a year. Bonus, I don't need to worry bout regrowth❤

@@petarenae4823 Does the "lock in" steps to keep the moisture in your hair apply to men with short hair? - He recommend to use the leave in-conditioner and hair oil to lock in moisture but also said if you have fine/medium hair not to apply it to the roots/scalp. Was wondering if the lock in steps would still be applicable with men with relatively short hair.

Two months ago I got my ends trimmed and very soft and long layers because they had minimal damage … my hairdresser cut off 6 inches, I was fuming and crying at home. On this Friday I‘m on my cousins engagement (I‘m also doing her trial hair and make up tomorrow) and now I don’t know what to do with my hair. It’s so frustrating because everytime I change my hairdresser the very thing I was trying to avoid happens 🥺

Cut it yourself... I've been cutting mine since the day it got curly because no hairdresser knows how to cut curly hair and take care of it, it seems... it's been 25 years now... it's fun too. There's lots of tutorials to watch and learn from. I'm ofc good with my hands and have been cutting hair on family and friends and patients for years, so that helps ofc. But anyone can do it after some practice.

I am so happy to have found your channel! 1 year after my 2nd baby my hair is FINALLY growing back but in weird clumps and uneven amounts. I went to Ulta to buy the products you recommended and the stylist there contradicted me a bit. So....just curious, is Redken your really fav or is it a sponsored kinda thing? No shade either way, it's just that a couple of your recommended products were out of stock and I was wondering if there were, like, maybe a top 5 in each category or something? Thank you!!
