You touched on this but I wanted to REALLY emphasize the organization and cleanliness of a home gym. Nothing kills your motivation more than tripping over gym equipment or having to move random garbage, that’s not exercise related, to perform basic lifts, exercises, etc... It is really nice opening the door leading to my garage, setup my music, and get started moving weight. Thank you for a great video.

My big thing I have to don’t neglect the “vibe”. Trying to work out in a bare empty beige color garage is no fun. Spent the extra money and time and paint the walls, get good solid mats, and lighting. Just that alone will make it feel like a gym and be nice to go workout in.

I found this deep red paint made by Ralph Lauren at Home Depot. Drywalled the garage then painted it deep red with the black mats. It gives me energy. I was worried about going to crazy with the red but put some mirrors and shelves to organize and it breaks up the red just enough.

Really thought you were going sexual with that comment haha. I actually have a video comparing those two exact dumbbells so you might want to check that out. Otherwise the rep knurling is a little duller (and the quality slightly less on the db) but the warranty is awesome. The biggest mistakes for a home gym Are from 2 influences 1) commercial gyms, from the people who to lose weight to bodybuilders The gyms are surrounded by machines and these people think need ton of machines to get a good workout So build a home gym they feel need ton of duplicate machines 2) it information which bombarded to build a home gym You need a rack you need a bar you need plates you need a flat bench Result of these two influences You end with a sheep gym because you haven't identified what you need for your home gym what your training goals and so forth you've just followed the same generic pattern

Get a gym mat and set of dumbbells. After 30 or 40 you don't need 5 pound increments.. nice to have, crunch rocker, incline bemch, cardio machine.. you don't need all this equipment .. a quick 30 minute weight training session 2 or 3 times per week is adequate. You can do it in your bedroom if you have space.. don't get carried away..
