I hate that people still think keeping Hamsters in those kinds of cages is ok. So uhm random Hamster facts to make your Hamsters life nicer ! (Provided by the experience i got from keeping hamsters) -Wild Hamsters travel a LOT by night usually they walk for MILES to get food (so a Big terrarium or Aquarium is the best cage you can have also a nice Big wheel) - they LOVE chewing things (so any plastic is usually a Big no no) - they can and will climb but they arent super good at it so wire cages and stuff are actually quite dangerous - they want to dig so usually you should have a LOT of digging material in their cage also different Materials - super fine birdsand is a nice change and also helps them clean themselfes - and most important DO YOUR RESEARCH

Ok first of all you have the right to complain about a fucking cage when you are a greiving autistic kid who buys two baby female mice and one of them dies and the second mouse repeatedly escaping even when the person you live with applies ductape because the snotty ass kids told me and my grandma the distance between wouldn't be big enough for them to escape which they did and candy bit michelle so she threw her out the door and btw I bought these feeder mice because I previously bought one baby boy mouse whom I named and fell in love with but he got so sick I had to feed him crumbs of his food on my hands and droplets of water for him to drink. eventually he stopped drinking and eating I had to put him in my school art box on a paper towl trying to keep his suffering to a minimum and to top it off remove maggots so all he had to worry about was his laboured breathing and beleive me he was barely managing that. The two mice and rats that followed felt like trying to fill the void he left but this was a long long long time ago

When I got my first mouse it was from a pet store, wasn't those big chain pet stores, just a small local business that I usually support and trust. The "nice" lady there told me mice are small and are fine by itself, they can live in small cage and a tiny running wheel will fit just fine. I ended up having only one female mouse, a tiny cage and a tiny wheel. After some research I decided I'll not listen to any pet caring advice from any pet store now, they don't really care about their animals esp small animals.

That’s literally the smallest cage I’ve ever seen. My “friend” had a hamster. Their cage was literally like 2 feet wide. Very, very small. I told them that it was way too small, they replied with “No! It’s super big!” I kept telling her that it wasn’t big enough, she didn’t believe me. I’m guessing her hamster died like 2 months later..

having owned 4 hamsters in my life i can indeed tell you they can and will climb a cage with bars and will then hang by two legs off the ceiling and then fall down. my most recent male hamster was an expert at climbing the bars of the cage he was in when we rescued him. i was once told hamsters cant and wont jump, this is also incorrect as two of my hamsters have both loved throwing themselves off of anything and everything they could find regardless of how high up it was.

that tiny cage could be put into the big one, or modify both to use it as a removable extension. the small pieces could be taken out of the tiny cage and put into the big one, and only put back for journey's that take long enough for them to get bored. i'm not an expert or anything, but i am studying to be a zoologist, so those a just a few things that i found might help :D

(This from my experience.) Hamsters love climbing and exploring, although they are not very good at it. They can fall very easily, so high cages are a no-no. Also, keeping hamsters, mice etc, in those tiny cages is horrible. they need to run about and forage. not sit about cutely in a pastel cage for a 6 year old to look at.

For my hamsters we got a huge two-story cage and we put tunnels for them to climb through going from side to side over the top and a thick layer of bedding for them to make their own little tunnels in the cage. Then we put a tunnel going up to a little UFO thing so we’d put treats in there every once in a while and some bedding and it was so cute they loved it. We also had a tunnel going to the second floor and a big wheel that they’d run on all throughout the night

I had that one at 07:04 for my hamster when we first got her because the pet store recommended it and we didn’t know a lot about hamsters. Our little girl’s foot got stuck and she was just hanging there. We took her to the vet afterward and she seemed fine but we never used a toy like that again

i have a cat, as long as your mouse/mice are far away from any threats, i think it should be fine. like make sure your dog and your mice stay in separate rooms, or if they have to be in the same room, make sure theres a large distance between ur pets so that for example, if your dog wants to get the mouse/mice and try to push the cage, maybe put your mice higher up or on some level to where your dog cant reach the cage haha. maybe make sure your dog doesnt disturb the mice too. tbh this is just common sense i did no research on this but i hope this helps lmao

@x Erin x I grew up around dog breeders and trainers, and to put it briefly, no you can’t just train them not to hurt a mouse. Dogs are super diverse animals with varying personalities and levels of intelligence. Some dogs don’t care about hunting smaller animals, while others hunt them. It is sort of built into dogs as predators to kill smaller animals. Some dogs could be taught to leave a little mouse alone, while others can’t. Ultimately, you shouldn’t take the chance, and you should just keep the separated.

One of my random impulse Amazon purchases: I got a “harness” for my blue tongued skink (Bella Boo). I got it because it came with dragon wings to attach to it. It doesn’t actually work as a harness because it’s really just shoelace string with a couple pleather straps, but the wings were totally work it for the absolute cutest picture ever!! And just to get ahead of this before I catch some hate, no she wasn’t stressed. I’m really good at feeling her vibe. It was only a couple minutes, and she’s very easily bribed with blueberries. She’s very sociable and loves coming out and interacting. Blue tongued skinks are very unusual for reptiles in that way. Also, she was a rescue and only came with 3 1/2 feet and not many toes 😬 so also, no, I didn’t participate in animal trade that kidnaps wild animals. I’m just giving her a good retirement home for her golden years.

I really love mice! As much as how annoying it is when they get into your house and eat up everything I find them pretty cute! I found a baby mouse once on my school bus and I saw it out in the middle of the school bus, like it was inside the school bus. And when I asked my bus driver if it was okay for me to take it outside which I kinda didn't want to because it looked so scared and it didn't look very well cause it was barely even moving. And this bus driver frickin' just literally screams her lungs off! I said " stop your gonna scare it " because naturally animals and especially scared baby animals don't like it when you scream. It can also scare them, or if not scare them maybe threaten them. I had to put it outside though next to a high school. I didn't want to leave the poor thing, but its not like I even know how to take care of a mouse yet anyway. Then the next day this kid that gets off at my bus stop found another baby mouse! It was much more healthier since it was actually moving and trying to run away when the boy tried to grab it. And it was also older than the last baby mouse I found. But I still felt bad for it. I wanted to take it home so bad with me. But my bus driver is just too scared to let that happen. But then again, I don't even have any equipment for the mouse nor any room or pet experience with a mouse to take care of one. But they were so frickin' cute! I also would very much like to have a pet garder/gardener snake and a jumping spider. I find them very cute as well. Plus jumping spiders are very friendly and easy to take care of and gardener snakes are also pretty friendly! You have such amazing videos and I really love learning from them too.

There are 2 mice living in my home that aren’t mine they just came in and one night I was sitting on my couch “doing” homework (actually in my phone) and I saw them come out from under the couch and start chasing each other and playing around I was so cute! But then they got really close to the couch and I was scared no I put my foot down on the group lightly and they went back under the couch Uwu (but it’s kind of dangerous because we have a snake) But I want one they are really cute but I don’t think I’ll be able to take care of them good

Duuude that tiny cage just made me sad. It would be okay if it were labelled as a travel cage but even then it still looks really cramped. It’s disgusting that small cages like that are even still sold in pet shops and stuff. Imagine living your life with hardly anywhere to go. What a nightmare! Two little things from one mouse owner to the other: please get them a wheel that has a closed side instead of one where both sides are open, as they are less likely to hurt themselves in these. Also consider adding more bedding! It's an absolutely fine amount, but from my experience, they go nuts about having a deep layer to dig around and burrow in, so I'm sure your little group would absolutely love that! My girls have a 30 cm layer of bedding they spend hours building tunnels. Besides that I like how busy your setup is in the end!

My neighbor (he's 8) had a hamster for only 8 months and the story is REALLY sad. So my neighbor (I'll call him Jake) got this hamster for his birthday. I never saw the cage until the hamster died (8 months later) but the cage was tragically small. It was about 1 square foot large, had a dingy little wheel, and some of those ridiculous climbing tubes and a small food and water bowl. That was it. But it gets worse. That family had a bad history of controlling their pets (and kids for that matter), they had a dog that would always escape their faulty gate, a cat that roamed around the neighborhood, killing small critters for sport, and an INSANE puppy at the time of this story. Jake had a little sister who was 2 at the time. She was carrying around the hamster while the puppy was loose in their house. The girl set the hamster on the ground and left it there. With no hesitation, the puppy bit it and fatally wounded it. The hamster had a cut so deep (brace yourself) you could see the intestines. They took the hamster to the vet where it had to get surgery, but it was too small and fragile that it passed away. The whole story was really sad and that family should not be allowed to have pets and it really makes me question why an unsupervised 2 year old was allowed to walk around with a hamster and a crazy puppy. I like your videos and I really hope people would do research before impulsively buying pets. PETS ARE NOT A TOY, THEY ARE LIVING BREATHING CREATURES JUST LIKE HUMANS. Thank you for informing people on important topics like this.
