Commendable. To many politicians are fine with sending men to die in conflicts while staying behind there desk where the only injury they face is a paper cut. If the politicians happened to be the ones forced to fight I'm sure they would find a way to end it much quicker. Respect to this lady for stepping up and putting her life on the line. I'm kind of not surprised. I worked not far from Swedish soldiers in Cyprus. Their closest observation post Sierra-64 we kept in close radio contact with. During our military skills competition, they were always right on our heels. I strongly suspect that if we were not paratroopers, they would have beaten us in all categories. Keep in mind that most of these soldiers were conscripts.Off duty was harder to find a better drinking companion. It was a little bit scary, their amorish desire for gallons of vodka. Great people, the Swedes! God bless this soldier of freedom !! May God's armor surround her in the protective wings of an angel !!!

Scandinavians in general are pretty good as we didnt dub childrens shows in her age group when growing up, thus we read translated subs while listening to English (American) cartoons. This affected reading skills and multi lingual skills and may be an important part in why its easier to learn new languages, as we already know two (English and our own). In addition, there is a focus on German, as it is very close to our own, so its not uncommon a younger adults to be able to comprehend 3 languages, at least to some extent. However, due to modern technology we are already at a point where our smartphones make translation possible to any language, so its not that much of an advantage compared to only a decade ago.

There are plenty of organizations trying to relocate and assist refugees, and they always need volunteers. Her service is especially valuable, since she is an instructor. I'm sure she has professional experience from the Swedish military. So I can really understand she feels she should contribute personally. (There have been Swedish instructors in Ukraine since 2014. Together with other western militaries, this has helped to transform the Ukrainian defence into a western style military, where personal initiative is aplauded - not punished, like in the Russian/Soviet.

I am Swedish and had never heard of her before. Her party is often accused, by its political opponents ofc, of being supporters of Putin. Obviously that is not true. It is a conservative party when it comes to moral issues, which you may say that Putin is too, but that does not mean that they support his war of aggression. Hopefully she will inspire other people with the right skill set to go to Ukraine and help out. Ukraine needs people with the right type of training and specialities not only a huge amount of different military skills but probably also a lot of skills in fields like internet, communication specialists, electrical, medical, rescue expertise and so on. Ukraine and Europe also need to continue the support for Ukraine so they can end this war and bring peace to Europe.
