I heard the dev's reasoning behind the crate drops was for every one of them to turn into a battle for it, they actually wanted the game to revolve around them! I guess they didn't realise that people team up and usually co-ordinate over team speak in games like this! what a load of shit and thank you mack for saving me money

Worth A Buy and having them drop slower makes it even easier for these gangs to get under the drop and claim all the goodies I'm guessing? yeah definitely a game breaker for me, kind of ruins the immersion in a survival game as well!

The air drops could have been in the game naturally on a timer or with an in game currency. Having to pay for them at all with real money is just you being gouged, and players are actually stupid enough to defend this. Next you'll see MMOs where you have to pay money to pop BGs, and players will defend that.

They should just put it within the game by default! The game should do random air drops in the world. They are charging you extra to make the game do what it should already be doing, and suckers are paying for it.

Here is what I think they should do: When 2 people use their "I'm a friendly" towards each other, they shouldn't be able to kill each other for like 10 minutes or so. There should also be an alliance option, where if 2 or more people decide to group together, they won't be able to kill or attack each other. This will make it easier and more trust worthy for people to team up

As you say, your channel is a 'Worth a buy' channel and not a 'review' channel. I think you should add to your videos (or maybe just in the description) how much you think the game is worth. By saying yes it is 'worth a buy' I assume you're saying it is worth getting for the full price, but actually it could just mean the game is worth getting for a lower price. Also by say a game isn't 'worth a buy' I assume you're saying it isn't worth the full price, but it could mean it isn't worth getting it even if it was free. So just to make your point more clear I think you should add to your videos (or maybe just in the description) how much you think the game is worth. I love your videos by the way, but I like to tell people how I think they could improve what they do.

The biggest thing with this as well, is the fact that Sony is covering up the fact that you're pretty much risking real money, on essentially what could nothing but frustration. They're saying "oh but look, it's not Pay To Win, we're going to make crate drops *fair*), yet on the other hand...they're making people waste real world money, on stuff they could end up losing to the hands of other players. Air drops should be nothing but random events on the map, nothing more, nothing less. The only IN game cash shop items should be, are that of cosmetic related items, XP boost (if they build a leveling system), etc. So they can continue talking out of their ass, and fanboys can keep defending this game...but at the end of the day, guns and ammo are even more scarce than DayZ and WarZ combined, almost forcing players to virtually "rob" players of their real world money or spend real world money to get the upper hand on players. A game isn't fun, when you're actually wasting money in it, to have fun. It's pretty sad when games like WarZ/Infestation have a fairer in game store than this...yet that game got a whole heap of hate, yet this game gets off because they're bold face ripping people off while WarZ lied about doing stupid shit? Go figures. The PC gaming community is getting soft, where is the community I grew up with that demanded quality and fairness?

Right? What a real scam they are running here! Those poor players buying crates willingly! It's not like they know that they drop everything on death! This is why there are many people who are NOT upset about airdrops. Because they know that even if the person who purchased air drop can secure the contents of the airdrop. That eventually they WILL die. That loot will either be distributed or it will deteriorate over time.

There is no loot still. I just played the game for a few hours and played it a number of hours since launch (bought it with a friend sadly ugh) and you were lucky to find a packet of salt on your first run. I gave up after finding nothing after searching so much shit, this game forces you to eat berries or buy drops. love ya Mack.

I agree with this review. But I find it very interesting that in such a short time, exponential even, the zombie survival timeline has jumped to the point where it's gangs and chaotic mob rule. I mean essentially that's a part of zombie fiction in a lot of cases, and the frustration and anger towards it echoes much of what the characters in those stories are feeling. The complete 'What the hell?' with hands thrown up, it exists here. But it's not fun to experience.

Yeah, I'd like something like State of Decay, too. A massive *3rd person survival game* (I can just _hear_ Mac complain how it should be First Person, lolz) with a "Hunger Meter" (Snake Eater-style) and _crafting_ and a reasonable _variety of weapons_, with _enemies_ (Zombies or mutants or whatever) and _environmental hazards_ (acid rain, thunderstorms, freezing weather, etc). Ah, well. It's nice to dream :)

I liked the bit where SOE announced that they would charge you to play an unfinished game but then give it away free when they finally fixed it. Then the bit were they said (right up to 3 days before Early Access) that "There's no way you can get ammo any other way. You can't buy ammo, you can't buy guns, you can't get them out of a crate, there's zero way. You have to find them in the world.". Then on release day saying that you still couldn't buy a weapon anywhere in the game and that what people pay for is an event and not a pay to win. I liked that. Then I liked the bit were Sony sold SOE to a Financial investments Company (Columbus Nova) for an undisclosed fee and changed their name to Daybreak Game Company. I'll really love the bit where they stop paying attention to H1Z1 and start to make more free to play micro-transaction games on multi-platforms such as tablets and mobile phones to maximize their investment in SOE I mean Columbus Nova's Daybreak Game Company. Can't Wait!!! So excited!!! Edit: In case it wasn't apparent that was sarcasm. This next bit however is not as I didn't like the bit where they sacked half of their new employees sad, sad, sad, even if it was inevitable.

Been playing Stranded Deep and i must say, i really enjoy it. Its Early Access (ofcourse...ofcourse), but the game looks...amazing. Its functional, runs smooth, has the basics and theres not a single zombie or KOS'er in sight. Cant wait till u review that one.

You know what would make a good zombie survivalgame: 1: Alot of zombies! 2: People that have a background! (Saying you spawn in like a doctor/mechanic/school teacher, ect.) 3: More zombies! 4: A moving shop for the nessasairy things like food and guns! 5: House that are all open! 6: A quest that can be done after every update! (Only for a limited time) (And I know the game would be bigger and harder to operate and maybe lag alot, But they can make the map smaller or whatever. and for the gamers it would be alot more apealing to have something special to them, like mechanics can fix cars easily and doctors heal people, you get the point, also Alot more Zombies would probably do the trick!) Anyhow I would like to have a game that would actually be good for once/ with something to look forward to instead of having to deal with stupid as people killing you all the time! I agree, but hope they hear all the reviews and do something about it!! Well Good Gaming Everyone!

I respect your opinion but I think you should do a revisited video to this revisited video. The devs have nerfed the airdrops to the point where it would be crazy for anyone to "Pay to win". On the zombie issue the devs had said that they would make them more threatening but I for one enjoy the player to player interaction. The guns are also very available now and they is basically no need for airdrops unless you want to lure players toward you. All in all I love this game and your channel. ( Also I have 50+ hours in and I am still addicted.

I totally agree about the alpha/beta debate Mack. If the devs want people to pay money upfront for an unfun (not a word), pay to win unfinished game, they may as well post on kickstarter. At least then people would know they won't be getting anything for awhile. The argument about that "It's in alpha and will get better" is crap. You are right that your 14.99 should give you enjoyable gameplay with just some bugs, not "will be adding this and that later", which may never come but by then, the devs have everyone's money so they don't care

I said this to the owner of this video ... and i'll say it to you ... You're just a start at the game , for fuck sake you haven't to PV ( pleasant valley ) ... LIKE HONESTLY for a good review on a "GOOD" channel you need to have at least known the map or locations or anything in the base of this game , police stations contain guns ... apartments / lofts contains guns and ammunition ... military base / the misty peak damn ETC !. ... you just haven't explored or had a good experience with the game . and no it is not P2W ( pay 2 win ) ... why ? because airdrops could be shit ! and could only contain a hammer and scrap metal depending on your luck ! military crate the one you are RANTING about with guns and ammunition , that has a literate 0.39% chance of drop ! airdrops could be contested they added that as a factor of the game to increase PVP ! and they are not easy to get once it has landed it spawns a ton of zombies around ! i honestly disliked both videos cause i saw these reviews both as shit ! like you were randomly moaning about SONY and DAYBREAK ! whilst you haven't even played for more than 2 days maybe ! and they did mention it's a fucking PRE/ALPHA/BETA/ EARLY ACCESS GAME ! of course there is bug they work their asses to fix them each patch ... no bugs remain more than a week to two weeks ... just stop ranting play the game . get some friends and stop trying to show a game that is normally average and fine as if it was a crappy shit farming simulator 1999 ....

Young Bleach EXACT;Y MY FUCKING POINT ! he has literally only played like 30mins... and he probably is a hypocrite who likes the game and plays it at this very day . anyways the king of the kill thing , about that . there are servers like abandoned / arctic hell that are full of pvp on JS . they are both good games and i play them equally . I just think that JS is the more fitter / better game , because its survival for the fittest you gotta actually be good at base building and knowledge of spawns / looting locations. but also king of the kill is a good game , if you like weapons and gunning down people randomly just for a killing spree and fun time over strategic choices of combat then you should play king of the kill :)

The only thing I can think of to tone down the firing guns deathmatch thing, make firing a gun it a last resort, as if you fire a gun, a zombie horde spawns & runs to that location. Also if you kill someone you character gets flagged for a period of time, which increases your zombie attraction, the more times you kill someone the more zombies, longer & higher attraction/aggro rating you have. Sadly I doubt any of this, or similar ideas to adress the issues will never happen. These type of games attract the worst kind of people & eventually it will turn bad no matter.

Bought it anyway... Wasnt expecting much, but i actually really enjoy this game. Beats DayZ by a mile and i have over 250 hours in the standalone. Plus i have got constant 60fps and i actually really enjoy the crafting aspect. P2W doesnt bother me because you can find guns in a trailer, i have bought skins though interestingly lol.

I just got back into this game a month ago and I'm having a blast. They've fixed a lot of the issues brought up and as far as it being P2w I don't entirely agree. Yes you can get guns/explosives in airdrops, but you could find the same guns/explosives I'm just a few minutes of playing if you don't suck. Plus 90% of the servers don't even have enough ppl to call in an airdrop

Worth A Buy Thanks Mack. I just really wanted this game to be so much more than what it actually is. The thing is... I absolutely hate games that promote psychopathic behavior. In my opinion the whole KoS mentality has destroyed DayZ and the same bullcrap is happening all over again with H1Z1. Lots of people on the H1Z1 reddit forum expressed this _exact_ same concern. Nothing has changed. Like you said, it's not even about the zombies, it's just a massive deathmatch.

Tonyiverson Lin KoS won't improve the game, it will ruin the game. The devs talked about making a bunch of different servers with different rules. This is not a one-size-fits-all type of deal. Also, they've already made lots of PVE servers and I'm not in a minority.

I especially like that ending. Pay for a crate with real money only to see it explode in front of your eyes. I think that is a very valuable life lesson Sony provided for the players of H1Z1. Don't spend money on useless shit or otherwise you'll get burned.

You are wrong about the back pack mate, once you make it the new backpack will swap all of your gear over into the new back pack. I have found a few little dirty tricks too. When you have learnt berry juice but you only have dirty water it will still let you craft berry juice (as long as you have the 5 berries needed as well) turn dirty water straight into purified water and then makes berry juice. As for pay to win.. Yes sadly it is still there :(, like you said if they added a way to buy air drops with in game currency it would not be so bad. The good thing is when someone buys it they do have a chance to lose it but the gangs roaming now makes it a bit hard to do. I would aslo love the respawn point like Rust has with the sleeping bags and that you can fortify a house better with crafting your own doors to put on normal houses around the place so you feel safe. Because at the moment it feels like you are watching your back all the time for a stray arrow or some jerks that just want to steam roll everyone they see.. Need to be able to have some where we can atleast put items so we can build a house as a lone wolf and have a chance. Good review I hope the developers watch this.

I love this game. It has so much potential. The problem is pay to win. You won't find loots. You're lucky if you can find a backpack in 2 days. Ammo is rare and guns are semi rare. They are focusing on King of the kill. I agree, it's not a zombie game. Most zombie survival games are about pvp like deathmatch. Damn, your fucking reviews are always on point.

Hey Mack, just wanted to take a second and say thanks, you saved me $20. Was hoping it wouldn't be another Day Z or Rust clone. Will keep an eye on it though, maybe Sony will put in some mechanics in it down the line that will turn it away from the arena death match that it is. My quest for the perfect survival game continues.

I have to say I've experienced quite the opposite with most players being friendly. They do have PvE servers set up if you don't want PvP to be an option at all as well. As for the airdrops I can see where you're coming from but I can see the other side to the argument also. Yes you pay and have a 10% chance of getting a gun but (like you mentioned) unless you have a gang who are well armed you won't get one. So you have to already have some form of weaponry.

with the way the airdrop system works, you can either get stuff with real money, or other people can take the stuff you spent your real money on. either way you get shafted

H1Z1 has gotten a lot better now the pay to win has lowered to 3 cents for an airdrop ticket on a market and the loot has been totally redone. I really do love this game and i think it is worth a buy.
