If the game has a dramatic change in the next 7 days due to patches and fixes I will review it again next week just to be totally sure I am being fair. I am not being bias towards or against this game, I only review what I see and play and this video is an accurate account of my first 4 hours in this game. I have a two hour stream going live tomorrow on my other channel "Mackscorner" (link in the description) You can see that for yourselves many of the incidents discussed in this video (the blackberry picking guy is hilarious) The reason I review early access games is because they cost money to purchase and it's my job to help the consumers decide if it's worth throwing money at the early access build. I am aware it's no where near the finished product but it is a product for sale and therefore fair game for a review.

Just for parity, why not wait til it's out of early access, 'launched' and free, then re-review it alongside this one (ie not 'next week') Why base part of your review on the 'its free to play why am I paying' angle, when you know its an opt-in payment if you want to get in ahead and try help the game evolve early on? You want free? Wait? If people based their decisions on alpha and early game footage, most games would fail. Neither a hater not a fanboy be. Stay objective.

Having checked the game out since the patch dropped I will be re-reviewing this game on Tuesday/Wednesday of next week as I feel my current review does not reflect the current state of the game. I have also added a message saying this at the top of my current review. This does not excuse the shambolic build I was using yesterday and Sony deserve all the bad PR that was given to them from the few reviewers who dared to speak the truth. As for the Tubers and reviewers who were saying how great yesterdays build was and the fan boys defending it, well, you should be ashamed of yourselves and need to understand that you don't have to accept sub standard junk. Grow a pair of balls and stand up for what you believe instead of being a yes man (or woman). Just rewatched this and had a chuckle. I remember how in the lead up the devs kept telling us that this was going to be a real survival game. How the zeds would be so lethal, we'd need to group up to survive. How we'd have to craft and build and eke out a place for ourselves. How they were going to make a massive map. And how there would be no pay to win. Yep. They told us in the days leading up to launch that there'd be no pay to win. Then launch day came and all of a sudden they were talking about air drops. They tried to bullshit us that it wasn't pay to win. The fanboys and paid reviewers tried to assure us that Sony had broken no promises. Amidst all of this, Mack was one of the only guys who told the truth. Thanks mate. You saved me some money. It's why I continue to watch you. And you're funny as fuck.

So glad to see your review up so quickly Mack, I was waiting for this for a long time! I do agree that the cash aspect and the way that system works is under review, so your probably going to get flamed to it. The good thing is that you always come back to your reviews so if the developers do change it you can have another rant at them. I couldn't believe the kind of things they didn't finish for EA. I couldn't believe so many people donating on Twitch for people to just sit and wait in a queue to play the game. It looked like a bad game, but the developers know temptation will kick in and once you have players online, they will just pay for whatever else they want to buy. I mean, early access but you can pay for a gun or item that doesnt work properly or has bugs = this is completely insane. Imagine getting an air drop with matches in and the matches don't work because of a bug. You've just wasted your money on something that isn't working. That is why i hate the cash store in an EA game, it's always going to work in the sense of taking your money but the items you get back are still not complete.

Just gonna leave this here: "Here's what's on the immediate horizon Lag fix - we're well aware of many servers seeing heavy lag. We have a fix incoming this am. Hitting the play button to a server and nothing happens or you don't get in - this is directly related to #1 G29 / G99 errors - we know what the root cause of this is (we're getting information from Steam too slowly in a lot of cases)- this will be fixed. Very little loot - already fixed and will go up with a hotfix asap. Airdrops - many fixes including how close they drop to you, how wide a radius they drop in.. airplane speed.. and of course making guns way, way less common. I know there are a ton of other issues but wanted to address the big ones right now. We'll need to bring the servers down later this morning or early afternoon to fix these things. If you don't see your issue on this list it doesn't mean we aren't working on it.. it's just we're hitting the big problems first. Thanks Smed"

looking forward to your rereview. It's sure changed a lot lately in recent days, was hoping you'd wait a week since recording because they are constantly updating it. People are just paying for early access, if you want to wait on the game and not support it, you can just wait til launch when the game is "finished" and what not. This actually just makes it a beta testing that everyone can participate in, as long as they pay. Sure, sounds crappy, but so are preorder bonuses like Evolve and such, but I think it's OK if you want to get a 100% chance to get in on a game early. I mean, DayZ is a pile of garbage that's hardly supported, at least these guys are working on it constantly.
