Maybe its just me but my hand seems to accidentally hit he pickup selector switch when I strumming hard.

Nope, that happened to me too. I recently tried a buddies one of these guitars and had the same thing happen again, so when I saw this comment I got a good laugh to myself thinking I'm not the only one.

I recently got one of these in Orange Stain. It's my first Gretsch and I love it.

Great score man! Just this week, I have begun looking for another one of these. I'm not going to order it sight unseen this time, I want to be sure it's as good as I remember this one was... but I do indeed miss this guitar enough to rebuy one.

I have a G5655TG in Cadillac Green. They both use the same pickups - Blacktop Broadtron pickups.

I adore that green, if I were to rebuy a gretsch from that line I'd be shooting for that color. Very classy.

I have one in Sweetwater antique orange with super hi-lotron pups and Calaham compensated bridge w/case.

I've been seriously reconsidering shopping for another one of these. The antique orange is a truly gorgeous finish. You like the calaham bridge a lot?
@ericsmith72873 жыл бұрын
@@AudiomoMusic I said Calaham bridge...I meant Compton bridge. I like it. It cut a sympathetic buzz by half, the other half was taken care of by using a wound G string.

G5622T has always been a center block!
@just_say_when34453 жыл бұрын
I could certainly see myself owning something like this in the future. I've never used a bigsby, but I really do love the look. Do you prefer a true hollow body or a center block? 339 is center block, right?
@AudiomoMusic3 жыл бұрын
Semi-hollow for me, I like gain too much to go for a full hollowbody, the feedback is immense! yes, the 339 is a center block

@@AudiomoMusic Fair comments. As a Beatles fan, I'd love a Casino. But P90s and a hollow body doesn't seem like a good mix to me.
@AudiomoMusic3 жыл бұрын
It's a great mix, just don't add any gain. I think that's one of the all time best clean tones, p90s and a hollowbody.

Thx for this video. As You announced in another video ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/r3qupqKpiMaqgaM ) You would buy a HB-35plus Plum Metallic I have a question You might help me answer: I have a Gretsch G2655 Streamliner in Gunmetal ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/Zl7YZJmXrZiCmpo ) - would a HB-35plus be a good alternative. Or should I stick to the Gretsch?
@AudiomoMusic3 жыл бұрын
That's a really tough call because they both have center blocks so they are pretty similar. However there are two huge differentiating factors, the size and the pickups. If you want something that will sound a little more "fender" clean, I'd rather go with that gretsch. If you want something that bites a little more with gain for a "gibson" dirt, I'd go with the harley benton. The only other significant difference is going to be the physical size too. The harley is noticably bigger, some people might prefer that but others may well want the smaller of the two in the gretsch. These are actually a really good set of guitars, if I could get my hands on both I'd love to compare them in person.

@@AudiomoMusic As I already have a SC-550 for "Gibson dirt", I think I stick with the Gretsch. Thx for Your explanation!

They do look similar, but this one had a center block and the 5422t does not.
