I think what Juri needs is better combo options. Maybe give her more ways to juggle. She's supposed to be a character that does long combos, but as is she just ends up burning through all her resources to do mediocre damage. Where as a character like Ryu can put in much less effort, and use far fewer resources and get more damage.

You made a good point but tbh Ryu isn’t less effort lol. Ryu needs like 3 neutral drive rushes. Many people can’t do that. I’d say Ryu combo is more technical. Meanwhile Juri just needs one link. Medium punch -crouching medium punch. That’s the hardest part of her main combo.

@martin99110 I'm talking about the combos themselves once they get one. Not their neutral game. I've played both in ranked, and juri can easily burn herself out, trying to put out enough damage. Once Ryu is in, he can do more with less. Rather than her doing more raw damage, though, I think it would be better to let her perform longer combos to keep her identity

My best guess is that the cross up detection was made very generous to prevent SF4 unblockable bullshit to happen again. Juri is the only character with a perfectly vertical aerial so its hard to tell if this is a bug or a feature.

My assumption is that the jhp isn’t meaty. So there’s a frame or two where you can move. Since you can move, you can walk under and you block cross up

💜💜💜 I like your change on buffing OD fuha stock to cancel to fireball. Also making the properties of fuha a projectile. Could be neat against wake-up level 1 oki. Some more unique game play.

They should make go otatsu projectile invul so she can use it as a raw option to go through projectiles as it has the most range of her kick special moves when buffed. Akensatsu could use more block stun so she can do a block string into fireball without having to use the od versions.

This was actually a lot more fair of a list than I expected with a character in the tier she is in. The whole cross up thing I think ties in with the block system, so thats likely here to stay, but all else seems reasonable.

Damn some of these changes would go so hard. the hk would be rly fun, beeing able to chain qcf mk lk also sounds strong. but im not sure how making qcf kicks all projectiles would work. would you get to punish close fireballs with qcf hk on reaction or prediction ?🤔 and would od clash with od fireballs ?

Basically the effects on her foot like her fuhajin would clash with fireballs. This is how she’s always been. In sfv, this is how it’s worked, in fact… that change is just making her work like sfv. Haha

great thoughts and i agree to 100%. BUT aside from those things that make her tools more consistent and just more logical, i think she needs no buffs to her current tools if she would get her sfv flip back. this time maybe as a kick dp motion. reasoning is, she just struggles against projectiles right now, but buffing her current tools in some way, maybe would buff her too much in terms of overall strenght. so by giving her the flip back, she would mostly just get a fancy new shining, really fun combo tool (maybe situational whiffpunish tool as well), what is no problem when dmg scaling is done right. but in terms of dealing with projectiles, i feel like she is fixed then? i mean in sfv she literally was immune to most fireballs and countered the playstyle completely when she got meter for ex flip... maybe it was a little much and considering whe have now access to od moves roundstart, sounds scary. but having to do a dp motion to jump over projectiles, while having true jumpscare fireballs in terms of speed in this game, is a different situation, right? the thing is, juri is kind of an allrounder character to me, that changes playstiles with occuring situations. but her strongest part is running you down and literally flying at you when finding a split second of an opening. but right now, her playstyle to me looks a little more dictated by opponents than before. maybe her flip could change it for the better. also what's up with her divekick? time to add more versions to it? not really to buff her like crazy, but to force people to make decisions. but well, i think any added version to it, is atleast a slight buff right now, lol.

💜I really appreciate how this is simply a: "hey, btw those things are weird and technically inconsistent" instead of handing in a laundry list of ridiculous buffs. Hard to argue with any of those suggestions. Great stuff! edit: Your wish regarding the death crest has been heard I think :)

💜 I hear ya BNK, some stuf you mentioned sounds really good for a balance patch. Adjustment of the hitboxes, consistency of the frame data, and for next season I would probably like to try out the fireball treatment of the special moves. if it is too much, in balance 3 we can turn it down again and do something other. But it feels like a fitting thing for juri.

this video is really well made 👌. i know I'm biased, but i really mean that. my only complaint is that I wish it came out earlier. i know its copium to think capcom will see this and run to the devs. but no cap. this vid is so good i wish someone over there would see it and comsider what you have to say

💜 I don't play this game too often to have an opinion but I feel like level 2 dash going though projectiles might be a bit too op considering the fact that you get so much pressure right after. Btw I've learned so much from you one of the best channels for new players and for juri tech

Another character, Chun-Li, can do the same thing with her level two. A full combo super that goes through projectiles. So I suppose that’s the justification.

@@295amin7 You are probably right I just feel like her lvl2 will have extreme impact if it has this trait. Getting him in corner with safe jump into more mixups right after just for a fireball?. If I'm correct Chun-Li gets a safe jump also but that's all.

Do you think having FSE to stay active until the end of a combo/SA1 start-up would be reasonable? That might potentially lead to some intense pressure opportunities but as of right now it's really frustrating when her install ends mid-chain making you to pay a lot of extra attention to the timer and your combo route instead of a mix up. That could improve the viability of FSE imo - right now I rarely see it ever being used below higher Master ranks despite being arguably the most unique and versatile ability in Juris' kit. Also speaking of consistency, hate it when the first hit on her dive-kick connects but the rest of the juggle just goes nowhere for some reason leaving you wide open for punish

if fuha is classified as a fireball, it would interrupt lvl1 on meaty, i dont think is that bad but maybe if could be too much? idk

Allow Juri to spend more Fuha Stocks on Level 1 to deal even greater damage. 1 Kick Button = 1 Stock (+300 currently) 2 Kick Buttons = 2 Stocks (+200 additional) 3 Kick Buttons = 3 Stocks (+100 additional) Maximum damage 2400 (Up from 2100 with 1 Stock). With the OD Fuhajin recommendation to add 2 stocks, this would also grant additonal value as you would charge your Super to do even more damage.

Standing HK is considered airborne in USF4 I believe so it drove me crazy trying to untrain my brain from seeing it as such in SF6 even though it’s visually similar.

Ankensatsu having extra scaling has always bothered me. With how limited to what it can combo from, it never made anysense it’s built that way

Great video. One change I would make, instead of your OD fuha giving 2 stocks, I would say that OD fuha should be able to dispel double hitting fireballs. In most cases the other character also used an OD move to make it 2 hitting unless you're denjin ryu. it mkaes it fair in the fireball war

But Juri isnt strong. Shes like 9th or 10th best which in a game of like 18 characters, thats like mid tier. Cammy, luke, dj, ken, jp, guile, blanka, chun are all better than her. and please god dont tell me "shes untapped because Feng Sheiu Engine!!!" Cause, thats just not true.

@yourstillwithme I think there’s 12 characters that have a place in the top 10. Half the cast is really good. Just because relatively they’re not as strong doesn’t mean they’re not strong. Do you see my point?

@@BigNastyKail She has weaknesses the other top tiers just dont have. She gets blown up by zoning characters and her "do projectile then follow it with drive rush" only works well vs charactwrs who are not top tier and thats her biggest unique trait that makes her worth using kind of. She has a rough time vs projectiles. JP, DJ, Chun, Guile, Luke are extremely hard for her. Shes great vs cammy, Blanka, and Ken but she loses to every other top tier probably. Shes good vs Marisa, Aki, Ed, lily, Honda, gief, and all the characters that dont really matter but she has a rough time vs the top 6. I get you like her, but Juris nothing special and she shined month one and then people got better and she went down a few notches.
