A few years ago, in a quiet department store,just an hour before Sunday closing, I spotted Ruth as she stepped onto an escalator to the top floor. I pointed to my 80 year old Mother, who said “ hello Ruth”, hoping she would simply turn and smile politely. Instead, Ruth shook her shoulders and rolled her eyes and completely ignored her. She was already moving up on an escalator so would not have been be bothered by unnecessary chat if she didn’t want it, so a simple smile would have been so nice. We now see her as a cold, smug woman and are no longer fans.

This is super obvious from watching her. I’m surprised you were a fan before hand but I’m sorry she made you feel less than.

I held the door open for a large family leaving a restaurant once. Parents, multiple grandparents and children of all ages. They had sat at the table next to mine. Anyway, the ONLY person to say thank you was the grandfather. I should have said “you’re welcome” to every adult that went past.

I do call it out especially on holiday! I try to teach my son how to be polite and we were waiting on a lift on holiday and let people in first that were waiting then someone walked in in front of us and he called them out and went that so rude we were there first! 😂
@Fullmoonhowl1012 ай бұрын
You are well within your right to call people out especially in this world where you are not allowed to have an opinion

Well the problem with the opinionated people nowerdays is that somehow their opinions are always negative and unnecessarily hateful towards discriminated groups of people.

As an American, I was horrified and highly embarrassed. If I do something nice for a stranger in public, like open a door, and they don't say thank you, I will say "You're welcome". It makes the point nicely.

Yes you should call it out as and when you see it, otherwise you become rude and two faced.

The late Queen recognised immediately the difference between someone who got protocol wrong from no ill-intent and others who deliberately ignored it out of arrogance and disdain.

I’m not a trump supporter but this is ridiculous. It’s rude if it’s intentional but people need to learn to get along , trump isn’t young himself, and there are more important things to pay attention to than other people’s hypersensitivity.
