People should take into consideration that California cars that spend their time in beach cities have lots of rot in them because of the moist salty air. The cars that spend their time in California Inland are perfect. But one's by the beach can be eaten up pretty bad. So be careful.
@thebigpicture20322 жыл бұрын
True but even the ones by the beach are clean underneath. If you’re in the rust belt, those cars are like gold.

I love restomods the romance of such a classic ride with the correct touch can be a long term keeper, everyone remembers some classic car but forgets having to got to Napa or Pep Boys for plugs points & condenser. For what they cost to restore "WHY NOT" make it drivable for every day . What a awesome car.

Wonderful. My late aunt in Sweden had one in this gold sand metallic, it was a dream. Many years after she had sold it, she went to a vet with her dog. He looked at the dog and then he was asking for her name and information for the invoice, he stopped writing when she said her surname. He asked if she had owned a Jaguar once. She said I have owned two, oh dear the vet said, please come with me. In the same building as his clinic he had his garage. They went into the garage and there stood my aunts 3.8 L in totally restored condition. She was a tough woman, due to the circumstances as a child she fled in a rowing boat from an Estonian island during the end of WW2 together with her family of seven to Sweden. She however softened and needed a Kleenex when she re-joined in the Jag for a tour with the vet. R.I.P Helena N. Note All cars in Sweden had an owner name sign in the car at this time, and it was still in the car when the vet bought it.

OK... added A/C, made some electrical and cooling mods, engine balanced with lightweight flywheel... what else? Would have been nice to have the owner take a couple minutes to point out all the mods he made than having the appraiser just eyeball and guess about everything.

Yes a missed opportunity. You can tell the owner wanted to point out all the mods.

@chesspiece812 жыл бұрын
It is certainly a pretty car but definitely not something I have ever lusted after or desired. The Jaguar E type, absolutely or the XJSS but these are obvious special but for a "hot rod" sedan since I am a red-blooded American I might rather have a GM sedan with a LSA or LT4 swap and 6 speed with suspension, brakes, and wheels. They made several sedans that look very close to the more popular 2 door models.

@3rdworldgarage4502 жыл бұрын
I see a few minor changes, not a hatchet job. Frankly, I would prefer this over a completely original car since it is more usable. Air conditioning just makes it driveable in summer, and the triple carb setup looks great. Also, these cars were not designed to cool in the southern US, so the cooling mods are a necessity for the car to be driven.
