Would you rather have something that only lasts for a short period of time, or something that will last forever?
Don’t love the world or the things that are in the world. If anyone loves the world, the Father’s love isn’t in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, isn’t the Father’s, but is the world’s. The world is passing away with its lusts, but he who does God’s will remains forever. 1 John 2:15-17
For if you live after the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. Romans 8:13
Now the deeds of the flesh are obvious, which are: adultery, sexual immorality, uncleanness, lustfulness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousies, outbursts of anger, rivalries, divisions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these; of which I forewarn you, even as I also forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit God’s Kingdom.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Galatians 5:19-23
...while we don’t look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:18
For if we have become united with him in the likeness of his death, we will also be part of his resurrection; knowing this, that our old man was crucified with him, that the body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be in bondage to sin. For he who has died has been freed from sin. But if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him; knowing that Christ, being raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no more has dominion over him! For the death that he died, he died to sin one time; but the life that he lives, he lives to God. Thus consider yourselves also to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:5-11
“If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, and whoever will lose his life for my sake will find it. For what will it profit a man, if he gains the whole world, and forfeits his life? Or what will a man give in exchange for his life? For the Son of Man will come in the glory of his Father with his angels, and then he will render to everyone according to his deeds. Matthew 16:24-27
Jesus answered her, “Everyone who drinks of this water will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never thirst again; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life.” John 4:13-14
I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will not be hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty. John 6:35
Don’t work for the food which perishes, but for the food which remains to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you. John 6:27

While I do not endorse the Bible translation you are using, I will say - this a great message! A true Christian sees what is eternal and what ends one day.

I renounced my false doctrine on self defense, I realized that self defense is against God's law

I want to have neither, but something that lasts for very long

Seems like an illogical point. Even very long is finite, and an eternal pleasure will have an infinitely greater joy than a very long pleasure. Perhaps you should rethink this idea.

Good stuff brother. Are we like Esau who?: * chose short term satisfaction over the inheritance promised to Abraham. * Malachi 1 says God hated him for this reason. By the way: In your description, you have Romans 6:5-11. Dont know why the KJV, NKJV, ESV, NASB, NIV, all translate vs 7 as dying "sets one free" but a correct translation is: "because whoever dies, is *justified* from sin". I think they're dishonest to protect their false Justification by faith alone theology because rightly translated one can see Romans 6:1-6 associates a person dying in baptism with grace and vs 7 showing this justifies. Surprisingly, I found ASV got it right. You can see so many translations at Biblegateway.com. Romans 6:7 American Standard Version (ASV) 7 for he that hath died is justified from sin. Also Douay-Rheims 1899 got it right too.
