If you could push a button and immediately reveal the undeniable truth about the existence or absence of God, would you touch it?

Man, as a devout Catholic, this was one hell of an interesting and informed discussion! Really enjoyed the different perspectives and civil conversation. Gotta hand it to you guys. And yeah, I’d probably push it, just to know

I would push the button, if we could truly know, now and forever, the Truth it would be a huge help in all kinds of fields; law, policy, psychology, hell even civil engineering. The amount of progress we could make, whatever the answer, would be incredible.

I would touch it. It would give us an answer to one of earth's biggest questions. Plus, it could reveal why we exist in the first place.

Man, this conversation was WAY too short! I could've listened to you guys talk about this for another two hours or more. This is the type of stuff I talk about with my closest friends and I love hearing other deep thinkers, like y'all, get into it. Keep up the great work guys.

This wonderful conversation I think points to my theory that the majority of us are somewhere in the center (leaning one way or the other) when it comes to views of both politics and theology. However, the fringes get the bandwidth in media and social media, which is dangerous. Unless the majority of us perk up and tamp down the extremes, then the cycle of hateful discourse continues; we need to promote civil discussion.

At least there would be one less thing to fight about

If the button also tells you which version of God is real I think you have to push it. If it turns out God is real and it's one of the versions with an eternal hell for disbelievers there can be no greater good than everyone knowing that truth. Like in South Park where the only way to avoid hell is to be Mormon.

Had to stop and call u out Rex. @27:56 u say u r not a community guy........ U destroyed your head over the course of a year for the MB's. U r a community guy. I get it though. POV- don't confuse church with faith. You won't find your Brs in faith at a church, you'll probably meet them at Alchemy over a glass of whiskey. Like-minded means Like-minded. Really cool part means Andrew is included because Like-minded is not reserved to in agreeance. Even a backslidden heathen like him can help us as an example of bad choices. 😮 luv ya Andrew. Rex glossed over the view point with " they just have to believe it " ... humans can be shown all the facts you want ..... humans are going to accept or reject whatever they want.

Way to be a lightning rod for controversy but handling it with humor and humility. I feel like the temp just got knocked down. The content makes me want to engage, not battle. It’s a balancing act that does not go unnoticed, that I may disagree with you but that makes me, and hopefully other but I can’t talk for anyone else, want to listen and talk to you rather than be right in the comment.

Would Jesus press the button?

As much as I would like having that information for myself, I wouldn't touch the button if it meant that everybody was burdened with that singular truth. There's a lot of good that comes from pondering the "what if".

Except you can create thousands jobs, become super rich, but your employees are “working poor,” and still not be a better person, for it. That argument, of yours, is rarely true. Pay your employees a living wage, and only then, is that statement true.
