Socotra is recognized as being a part of Yemen, and a majority of people there speak Arabic, along with Socotri, which is an Old South Arabian language. I've never heard of Somalia claiming any ownership of Socotra, though there are actually four Islands in the Socotra archipelago, and they are all closer to the coast of Somalia. But for all intensive purposes, Socotra is firmly a Yemeni territory, with no contest.
