Heh that almost makes me wonder how many you would need for it to activate from just being near it without building up an artificial charge first. In theory the human body does produce an extremely small variable electric field of it's own perhaps too small to detect though except maybe at almost point blank range as if you make it too sensitive stray RF noise and such is going to activate it.

I've used the antenna+oscilloscope trick you showed at 4:57 before to find out if a joypad wire was internally broken (by flowing in it a signal generated with a signal generator). It was not very efficient but worked overall.
@seraphina985 Жыл бұрын
We use something similar for fine location of a cable break to repair broken network cables in large buildings sometimes. We would use TDR (Time-Domain Reflectometry) to estimate the distance to the cable break and then use a signal generator and receiver to pin down the actual cable break. Once you find it you can cut the bad section out and use a couple of splice connectors to insert a replacement segment of ethernet cable. It's not ideal and you wouldn't really want to be doing this multiple times on the same cable by any means but it can be the most cost effective option for the client especially if there is no suitable spare cable already run as running cables in already finished and furnished buildings can get labour intensive and thus expensive.

hi. a Russian here. the Russian comment at 2:25 means: the guy is telling that the video was a Jihad 101 on how to construct a detonator. but immediately the guy tells us that he was joking (about jihad, I suppose, cause the detonator claim is still valid). and then they note that usually an extension cord should turn on when the switch is in the "I" position, and turn off when the switch is in the "0" position, but the switch in the video works incorrectly. *flies away

I've made that circuit before, thanks for explaining how it works! I also found that if i placed the antenna close to my skin, the LED would light.

Mehdi, I think that you should make your own electric race track model. Here's a few things I'd do: 1) Use lots of plastic sheets glued together to make your track. This assembly you can then use to make your dream track. 2) Use magnetic film tape with a coil wrapping around the whole length of the tape (wind the coil perpendicular to the film tape) 3) Use two heavy-gauge wires (make sure they're the same gauge) placed a small distance apart with a barrier of epoxy between them. This is for short circuit protection between the wires, and the wires make a conductive track for the car's pickups to pull current from. 4) For the car's pickups, buy an electroscope and pull out the voltage detector. The beeper output can be used to drive a small DC motor using PWM, thus driving the car forward, while the LED output powers an electromagnet that keeps the car firmly on the track. 5) The sensitivity adjustor can be wired as a second pair of pickups, with this one fine-tuning the motor speed. 6) A control panel would be made from a dimmer switch, a zapper toy, a hair dryer circuit, and a step-down transformer to supply DC power at a low enough voltage for the console to run. 7) The AC output from the hair dryer would pass through another full bridge rectifier before going to a step-up transformer, in order to supply enough voltage to power the track. 8) Power for the track would be DC, but supplied by a wall adapter and full bridge rectifier in series with a step-down transformer. 9) To avoid destroying everything in the event of a power surge, a NAND chip and a relay would switch the system to an uninterruptible power supply. This would also happen during a blackout.

This circuit was actually taught to me by my electroncics teacher. With good enough transistors you could even detect stray voltages in the air. We joked about that and dubbed it the "ghooost" detector. It's quite fun.
