I'm japanese and this is a slap in the face of my culture. Here is the yin & the yang ☯️ If a japanese gaming developer made a black panther video game and replaced the black panther with a Asian character.What would happen ?

Yo, thanks for sharing your opinion and totally understand. Especially if you're a fan of the franchise and wanted to see a Japanese assassin in this time period. I heard the character was a real character, which is a first for an Assassin’s Creed character. And so, as a black man, I'm excited to see a real-life character like this, if only by name. Race swapping is a thing and issue in storytelling of all mediums(movies, TV, animation, video games, books, etc) and definitely understand your feelings.

@@XpectoGO I get his sentiment as well, but he must not be very well learnt in his own country’s history. This character isn’t inspired by anyone or created by Ubi, it simply is Yasuke. A historical figure in feudal Japan who was black. He arrived in Japan with European traders and was picked up by Oda Nobunaga, one of the Three Great Unifiers. And he was appointed as his banner bearer and given treatment that must would akin to samurai. He had land holdings, received pay, and was equipped with samurai weaponry and gear while tagging closely to Nobunaga up to his death. There is nothing unhistorical about this. While I get some people don’t like the choice of character and that’s fine to an extent, to say it’s not historical or accurate to the times is a lie.

Yasuke was a real person though. He’s actually the inspiration for Afro Samurai. Just ask Sam L. Jackson.

Assume this is all cinematic trailer and not gameplay stuff included. Given AC Hexe is meant be 16th Century, I wonder if there could be any link between Shadows and Hexe? Gonna be pre-ordering that, probably Gold Edition, I like getting DLCs (some will be released after launch probably), but I am not normally too fussed about cosmetics
