I noticed something watching this video. Instead of implementing a bunch of fluffy, hard to balance BS that really doesn't matter in future expansions (borrowed powers, "new systems", etc.) they focused on making the classes play better. They looked at their weaknesses and implemented changes to the CLASS that allowed it to viable in both pvp and pve. This is what Actiblizzard is failing to accomplish with retail wow and this is why I ( and a lot of others ) loved TBC. I really can't wait to play it and it's probably where I'll stay for a long time.

Until wotlk comes out. They just doing a rerun of the game lol. But I’m not complaining. Until after cata then ima be pissed again lo
@benjaminjacobs53823 жыл бұрын
I think another notable difference is how they approached class viability and balance. They didn't just flat buff everyone, try to make every single class pump massive damage, or use pure dps output as the driver of balance. They made underserved specs like shadow priest or boomkin do more damage, sure, but they also made them bring valuable support and gave them enough damage along with those utilities to make them desirable. Spriests never pump as hard as locks in BC, but they're brought to every raid because they keep everyone's mana up and do enough dps that taking advantage of that utility is a buff to the raid, not a burden. This works in the opposite direction, too; warlocks and hunters may not provide the best party buffs like a shaman or druid might provide, but they do the big damage and can benefit from the support classes. If the big support classes also put out the top dmg, classes like warlocks may not have a spot. Blizzard gave everyone different strengths and weaknesses, so players can find a spot in most content with most classes and specs. You can see these differences even in tank balance; warriors are probably the strongest in terms of damage mitigation and raid boss tanking, but pallys are exceptionally strong in AoE threat generation, making them strong in dungeons/trash/etc. There isn't just one factor affecting their balance, so all of the tanks are desirable. In retail, things like a dps spec's mana bar is just for show, and they have to constantly tweak class damage output b/c there is very little value in party support. Nothing but damage affects class balance (from a dps perspective). This is why the specs that aren't at the very top of sims are denied from raids/PUGs in retail and why all high end players play the exact same specs; damage is the only thing that matters and sims dictate the metas. Makes for a boring spread when choosing a class. IMO, class homogenization has been one of the worst things to result from blizzards 'bring the player, not the class' philosophy.

Hunters are tier “S” in arena especially after season 1. The problem it needs really high skill cap more than any other class. They really can compete for rank 1 in 2s (with resto druid) and 3s (with disc priest/resto druid) which counter RMP easily. A great hunter gameplay will depend on draining and prolonging the games by kiting around the frost trap and using silencing shot/viper sting efficiently. They can provide endless cc with their druid by scatter trap comp in the dps, then track the healer until he’s oom, which is boring tbh but they are very solid class in arena. I believe we’ll have more hunters in PVP as the skill cap is increased comparing to 12-13 years back.
@ziadnasr45584 жыл бұрын
@@4ndr3cm they do go BM in season 1. After that BM only works for certain comps which aren’t tier “S”. The problem for BM is that it’s gameplay depend on high bursting using “Bestial Wrath”, which when you face high skilled teams they will know how to reduce its effect by kiting or using defensive cds. After “Bestial Wrath” BM hunters don’t have much in their pockets and will be an easy target to be killed. Another common idea vs BM hunters is killing their pets. If this happens you’ll have a hard life especially if they’ll sit on you to not let you raise your pet again. Overall, you have to be MM hunter (or survival) if you’re aiming for gladiator rank 2v2/3v3. Not sure about 5v5 but I think BM is valuable there.

lol hunters being tier s.... that’s funny
@ziadnasr45584 жыл бұрын
@@NeinnLive Well I see ur point of finding this funny. But I’m strictly speaking about god hunters, which there aren’t many of them. I’ll talk about 2s now as I’m more aware of it (hunter/druid). The most important aspect for hunters is being alive for long time. Once that happens they’ll have an advantage over all other comps (debatable vs lock/druid, lock/shaman). Hunter/druid counters or at least have considerable advantage vs many of the most famous comps in 2s. They shit on warrior/druid, have a great dominance vs the best comp in TBC (rogue/druid). Also against disc priests comp (either with rogue/mage/lock/warrior) as viper is a great threat. Actually they have advantage over all dps/healer comps (except for lock/shaman & lock/druid who have slight advantage against them. But still they’re winnable games, I’ll say 60%/40% for lock comps). The main problem for hunter/druid are 2 dps comps. They are hand countered by lock/rogue, spriest/rogue and slightly less against mage/rogue. All TBC comps have counters. But the least counters you have, the more powerful your comp is. Technically speaking, I believe hunter/druid is the second strongest comp in 2s after rogue/druid (from s2 to s4. Hunters suck in season 1).

Overview for priests: (coming from top 100 raiding guild Hpriest TBC and close to season 2 gladiator) For PVP you will almost always be the kill target. Disc priest only have a few good comps to play in 2s and 3s. RMP was on the best comp in 3s, but takes a lot of time to get communication down to beat cleave comps that take almost no real communication. The skill curve is higher. There are better healers than a priest for 5s, and won’t be used in 5s. For shadow priests will have even less comps. Only play some types of dot cleave teams, playing with affi locks and unholy dks. For PVE, in competitive raiding guilds. Shadow priests will only have 1 slot if even that. Again they are mostly used for stacking shadow weaving. Disc priests may be used and given 1 slot for certain fights. Holy priests make up majority of the healer positions in a raid comp. they by far have the highest HPS, so after you have enough pallys and Druid to buff, it will be filled with priests. This is the perspective of an alliance player so I can not talk much on shaman. But berserker is one of the best abilities in arena aside from a Druid’s cyclone.
@Shiftlinkage1013 жыл бұрын
This would make sense if you didn't leave out resto shams for raid healing, and also if you didn't mention "unholy dk's" due to the fact they didn't exist in TBC...
@Jersey00543 жыл бұрын
@@Shiftlinkage101 my point of view on shamans were that they were useless, also alliance population was low on them. They can’t heal like a priest and they can’t do dmg like a lock/hunter. even with the helm, ferals are still a bottom tier DPS in TBC. the only way to raid as a feral in any guild, that has an aim of actually clearing stuff, is to be an off-tank and swap your gear when the 3rd tank isn't needed. and no, this doesn't only apply to SOME guilds or those hard core ones, TBC's T5 is actually a very hard content and, even in classic, as you can see, people still min-max with all the unneeded stuff. TBC's T5 and SWP will actually require min-maxing and sadly, a pure feral DPS has no place in such environment. the expansion is just melee unfriendly on top of feral druids not doing high enough damage to justify their slot, on top of having mana issues because of shape shifting... so in all honesty, the biggest addition for ferals in PVE is the bear form stuff, like mangle-bear and lacerate.

@LikeVenom184 жыл бұрын
@@Stompinwind i remember farming DST on warmane as well as atlantiss' netherwing. out of probably 30 (if not more) gruul raids, i've only seen this trinket drop once and it went to a hunter that was pulling over 2.2k DPS in T5. there were no questions about who gets it, because everyone knew. yes, you can pull numbers as a feral, but only on a single target that doesn't die immediately (because of Rip damage efficiency). as soon as ranged fights take place, fights with more adds or phases - feral drops A LOT in terms of viability. you're basically bringing a single target damage stick and that's pretty much the only thing. i would much rather have an extra warlock so i can handle AoE fights better, a rogue if i didn't have one previously or an extra hunter. the final option seems the best one, as it's only a 2% aura damage difference, on top of having a ranged DPS that can occasionally AoE too. people often use brutallus as a typical "OH I CAN DO THAT MUCH DPS" check, however that's wrong.. he's basically a tank and spank single target damage sponge and far from being the hardest boss in the game, because you tailor your raids in order to down those hardest bosses in the game. yes, he has an enrage timer and that boss is a DPS check, but if everyone rotates drums, that boss is one of the easiest in SWP

The best hunter spec in pvp is actually a mm/sv hybrid with both scatter shot and wyvern sting. Hunter/disco is strong but hunter/rdruid is even stronger and rank 1 capable. Holy pladins have a very good 3v3 setup paired with arm warrior and an elem/resto shaman hybrid. Rank 1 capable in 3v3 (but still weaker than wld and rmp obviously). Sub rogue are better paired with a dreamstate restodruid than with disco or mage. This is the best 2v2 setup of the expansion. The best setup in 2v2 for shaman is resto+arm warrior. This is an excellent setup, especially if there aren't any rm of sl/rd in the neighbourhood. Ret+restosham is also good but is more like a double dps setup killer (very good vs rm). It won't do well versus popular healer+dps setups.

Rogue mage wipes ppl but the only problem is you have to have a brain to play it to it's full potential it's very very good and i'd say the best 2v2 comp

i am gonna play shadow priest in TBC and i will do mostly PVP and i wonder if they are op in tbc like there were in classic
@ballsmanjoe6994 жыл бұрын
They’re not op but they are certainly viable. Rogue Shadow Priest destroys Druid Warrior easily. With equal gear the druid warrior team doesn’t stand a chance. Just have your rogue cheapshot -> kidney shot the warrior while you’re raping him and you win. (As long as your rogue can kick the cyclone)TBC has a lot of counter comps, so it’s not the best meta as far as balance is concerned. Still super fun though.

Are mages still going to be able to AOE boost dungeons like in vanilla or did that change in tbc?
@fireotter63613 жыл бұрын
Late answer but no. They changed aoe dmg so your spell only do 100% if hitting 10 or less targets. If you have twice that amount (20 targets) you will hit them for 50% of the damage. Consecration from Paladin will be the aoe spell for Boosting since it bypass that aoe cap.

Does anyone know when leveling Shamans get access to two-handed maces/axes on Alliance side?
@dg50594 жыл бұрын
I think there isn't a level requirement. In classic, it was unlocked via a talent, but that was removed in TBC

For that 2v2 arms / resto comp you def want to be rolling mace spec

Warriors low downtime while grinding and leveling. What? Don't you know that joke about Warrior? What's the best race for Warrior? - Night Elf, because it decreases the time needed to get to your corpses while leveling :D

I wish blizzard would slow down, it’s quite good tough for a real world casual player to stay up to date with real life, I’m not 15 with nothing to do anymore 🙃

Yeah they need to slow down, it will be WOTLK by 2022 and then what???

They just want to squeeze the playerbase for increased subs on expansion release not sustained play, it's a short term nostalgia cash in.

Thanks for the video boys! Getting excited for TBC, glad to see some content for it. I am going to probably going to main a hunter and then or maybe even switch off and on with a pally, I love being off tank in raids, not too much responsibility, but more so than just dpsing I like that middle ground personally, one thing I cant remember though, was it TBC or Wrath that the pet stables got a update from 4 slots to lots more? I want to say wrath, but its been so damn long since I played TBC that for all I remember it could be either one.
