I was 7 years old and soooo excited to see my boyfriend 🤣🤣 my first Elvis concert I saw live on TV when it came out in 73. Even though I’ve seen this before I never get tired of reliving those memories. TCB⚡️

Satelites linked the live concert, recorded in front of a large audience in Honolulu, for the first time ever so that over a billion people could watch it on their TV sets simultaneously. Historical performance indeed!

Thank you sooo much Carrie! I can see why mom loved this concert! Besides the amazing music, Elvis brought such great energy to the stage here and it was for a great cause, cancer, which I didn’t know until I watched it. I’ll check out some of those suggestions and share soon 🎶🎸💛🚀

Thanks to the genius idea of producer-director Marty Pasetta, that runway was built so that Elvis could walk out to the audience -- something that his manager Parker did not want, but Elvis told Pasetta to build it. It was a benefit concert for the Kui Lee Cancer fund that raised $75,000 & Elvis purchased his own ticket & there was no set ticket price for entry -- people gave as donations. Because it was going to certain countries that would not understand nor appreciate some of his movements, he kept it low key. Please keep your eyes open -- you don't want to miss even a small little look or movement. Looking forward to what's next. Btw, it lost some sound -- including your voice also, just in case you weren't aware. WHITNEY HOUSTON'S MOM CISSY HOUSTON -- she was w-Elvis for just 5 wks. in 1969 from July 31st to Aug. 28th & then left to be at home w-her children.

I like how you got into the spirit of it with wearing the Hawaiian shirt, and the drink, and the whole caboodle for the Hawaii concert. I have to say, even though Elvis did a great job, it's not my favorite concert of his, partly because he is quite subdued here.. It's understandable though, it was broadcasted to many countries that had never actually seen him perform, so not knowing how he would be perceived, he had to play it safe. He also had to follow a tight timeline from beginning to end, so being unpredictable was not something he could do during this particular concert. Anyway, I'll be watching your full reaction, I appreciate you sharing your Elvis journey.

lol thank you! I thought it would super cool to pay Elvis homage by fully diving into the Hawaii experience as I enjoyed this cancer benefit concert. Wow, thank you for sharing that insight, because I did notice Elvis was more calm and uniformed than usual. However, I actually enjoyed this side of Elvis because the energy was so tranquil and peaceful, yet he still gave an entertaining and compelling show. This was my first full Elvis concert so of course I am biased, but I’ll definitely have to check out more of his concerts soon.

Hi Lynda, thank you so much 💛🚀. Yes there are many things I am discovering about Elvis that I really liked. How he was so down to earth and normal, which made him relatable. However, he was this power house talented superstar that was so gifted. I think the duality of that made him so intriguing to me.

Love Elvis and love your videos. If you do the review I have a (sincere and not trolling) question...can you hear the subtle slurring in his voice (not all the time) and the nasal or thin quality to his voice which permeates quite a lot of the show in general? Even when he's just speaking he sounds more nasal. Really I sometimes wonder if I've gone insane because so many fans praise it as his best ever gig/performance but 1970 TTWII Elvis wipes the floor with Aloha Elvis in every way possible apart from the operatic high notes...he also put on many great performances after aloha where his voice was way better too. I do like parts of Aloha, but can't understand the idea that this is his voice at is best. All just my personal opinions of course and each to their own etc! Feel free to ignore this, my comments are always way too long XD
