This was my late wife and my first dance at our wedding in 1995...rest in peace, my love! Even more beautiful is Bernie and Elton's song about the love of a father for his son dying of AIDS - The Last Song...search for the actual video to give it even more depth.

My uncle is a huge fan of Elton John. He recently is battling Alzheimers. We're slowly starting to lose him sadly, and one of the free things we do to get him back mentally and emotionally with us is by playing music by Elton John. It's been tough for the whole family, but it's a blessing how music has the magic to awaken the heart and soul like that. 💖

Great choice Amber and Jay. My suggestions for more Elton are: "Ticking" and "Indian Sunset". (1) Ticking is an INCREDIBLE piano and organ and harpischord story-telling piece that is HAUNTING. It is from the Caribou album (Bitch is Back, Don't Let the Sun) and Jordon, this is YOUR PIANO masterpiece :) Indian Sunset is also a story-telling piece about the plight of the early American Indians and is a MIND-BOGGLING orchestral-arranged feast. Elton starts out this one singing a cappella. BOTH of these are absolute MASTERPIECES from Bernie and Elton! Some of the greatest lyrics by Bernie EVER. thanks for all the pleasurable reactions!!! I love how Elton sings and sets music to Bernie’s words. I’m a “baby boomer” and remember the first time hearing Elton John. It was “Your Song”. “Border Song” was also good on that album. I’m glad he’s given credit to Bernie Taupin. I learned of an earlier album called with a song called “Empty Sky” which I really liked. It’s a fast paced good old rock n roll sound. I also love “Where To Now St Peter” from the Tumbleweed Connection album. It’s really worth listening to. Throughout the years, Elton John, has had other projects, on his own, I really loved. It’s been hard to choose a favorite over the years.

The lead single to the album "The One." This was the first album Elton put out after his time in rehab in 1990 and with it a reborn sound and feeling to his music, I'd say, in my opinion, his music became much more wholesome and meaningful after rehab, this was also around the time he was with his future husband David Furnish whom he's still happily married to! A new Elton and a new sound, fantastic!

Also saw your reaction to Carpenters “This Masquerade” and acknowledging Leon Russell. Leon was in the audience in 1970 at The Troubadour for Elton’s debut. He then invited Elton to tour with him in 1971. Elton was listening to some Leon tracks in 2009 and that prompted him to contact him. The result was an album released in 2010 of the two of them with lyrics written by Bernie and Leon. Leon had brain surgery during the recording sessions and the album debuted at #3 on the Billboard hot 200 charts. My favourite from the album is “Hey Ahab.”

I had forgotten about this song until I heard it again a few weeks ago. “All I ever needed was the one, like freedom fields where wild horses run.” Elton John had a strong connection with the lyrics. That had to do with his private life and the phase he was in. 5:10 Not her, but him in this case, even though you see a man and a woman in the video. Elton now has two children with his husband of 10 years.
