This whole album is fire (Tidal) . Fiona has had a rough life and has always been able to poetically express her feelings through her music. I think people forget she was only 17 when she wrote this. She’s such a beautiful, tortured soul. ❤

The thing that separates Fiona Apple from so many other musicians is that she doesn't just make music, she's a highly skilled and technical craftsperson. A composer, a technician. There are others who can do what she does, but people of her technical capability and calibre are generally very few and far between.

Her latest album ("Fetch the Bolt Cutters" for those who haven't heard it) made every current big-name singer/songwriter look like amateurs. I think she'll end up writing an avant-garde musical at some point or she might make a musical out of work. I'm probably just dreaming, but boy would it be amazing if she did.

Yes, she is so brilliant, every album of hers is amazing! I’d recommend several more from this album (Tidal) like “Shadowboxer” “Sleep To Dream” “Never is a Promise”, and from her other albums: “Fast As You Can” “Paper Bag” “I Know” “Extraordinary Machine” “O Sailor” “Tymps (The Sick In the Head Song)” “Not About Love” “Every Single Night” “Hot Knife” “Periphery” “Valentine” “Werewolf”, and from her most recent album (which is brilliant) “I Want You To Love Me” “Shameika” “Under The Table” “Ladies” ”Cosmonauts”…. I could go on! ❤

True, but how she was initially marketed turned me off to her music. Similar to PJ Harvey and even Alanis...they were marketed as the angry feminists in the 90s and for me personally it was turn off. PJ and Fiona ended up being two of my favorite female artists that came out of the 90s.

One of the best-produced singles of the 90s. The bridge is particularly well-arranged. I guarantee there isn't a big producer alive who doesn't think of this as a hallmark song of the 90s. And Fiona Apple was the arranger. She's also a gifted pianist. Like seriously gifted. Her latest album will go down as one of the greatest of the 21st century.

Thing about Fiona is that she cut through all the female singers out there. She was sultry and jazzy without sounding like a little girl, which most 90’s singers sounded like. Her music was on another level. Paper Bag, Fast as you Can, Shadowboxer, On the Bound are some of my favorite songs

This is one of the greatest albums of the 90’s. Not a bad track on it, and the songwriting is phenomenal.

Fiona Apple is a goddess, truly an original. She's still making incredible music. Some other tunes I'd recommend: Paper Bag, Fast As You Can, Limp, Slow Like Honey, I Want You To Love Me, Shameika and many more!

Fiona Apple is one of my favorite artists - so glad you guys are getting around to her! Along with the other songs people have suggested, I would highly recommend “Hot Knife.”

Fiona is an AMAZING songwriter. PLEASE check out more of her catalog. Really any of it is impressive. Her pain comes from being sexually assaulted as a teen. The song "LIMP" is about that.

To me, the 90s was the best decade for music. Raw emotion!

@JamesBond-ib9tq I didn't grow up in that decade. People can like music from decades they didn't grow up in.

How cool! Fiona is totally overlooked. This was my earworm for the day only a few days ago.

Fionna was one of the first people cancelled by the mainstream. I believe it was the mtv awards in the 90s sometime, she won an award and got up on stage and basically said all these celebrities are BS etc. etc. etc. It's a shame, she could have made alot more hits.

She's still putting out great music to this day, she's just not mainstream, which I think she has no problem with as she is an artist first.

Amazing Amazing Amazing song!!! Always loved the line "So what would an angel say? The devil wants to know!" Those eyes of hers though ...

Wow. It's about time. Yeah it's me. The one always strongly encouraging people to react to more female artists. THIS is a real good example of why I keep doing that. Finally.
