Stud redfish Ron! I bought a 3 pack of Bugs a while back but haven't really used them yet, been doing so well on paddle tails, but I guess I need to get them out😀 And I see you are enjoying standing and fishing. It's nice to stand, stretch your legs, and a much better visual perspective.
@KayakFishingAddict2 жыл бұрын
Thanks. Yep, it's time to break open the pack I'd say :). It is nice to stand but I've got to figure out how to adjust the camera angles for both. I can adjust the front one manually while i'm out there, but not the back angle. That takes getting out of the boat.

I’ve been using Biggs lures for a couple months now and love them. I cut the mono weed guard off of mine because it doesn’t catch many weeds without it and I think it gives a better hookup ratio.

Interesting, I might try that if it becomes an issue for me. Thanks for the tip.

I just subscribed to your channel and have been enjoying your content. You are a pleasure to watch. I just purchased a 2022 Hobie Outback as well. I'm curious about the fish bag you have set up in your hull. I tried to fit the Hobie medium bag in there, but I couldn't get it in. I saw in one of your videos you have the Magellan. Is it difficult to get in/out? How do you like it? I tried to see if you had a video going over it. I apologize if I missed it.
@KayakFishingAddict2 жыл бұрын
Hi Shannon. Welcome to the channel and thanks for watching and commenting! The Magellan bag fits but you do have to bend it a little to get it in the hull…no big deal at all. I don’t have a specific video covering it, but you can get it and the ice packs I use inside of it on my gear page ( gear.KayakFishingAddict.com ). So far so good, it’s probably not as good as the Engel cooler I was using before, but it’s much more convenient and it is good enough at keeping fish cold for the ~4-6 hours we need to keep them fresh. Tight lines!

Great content and production! Question about your setup - what are you using to secure both your stakeout pole and paddle to the same side of your Outback? Also, how do you have your stakeout pole tied to the Outback? I don't see a trolley on there. Thank you!

What tide charts are you using to get an accurate prediction of the the Ormond marsh?
@KayakFishingAddict2 жыл бұрын
The apps are all pretty good as they show the tides and times at buoy’s….not really in the marsh. I use Nautide and Tide Alert. Essentially you have to juse the Smith Creek Flagler Beach buoy which is at the 100 bridge and then you have to +/- some time (~30 - 60 minutes) from that to reach the Ormond Marsh….depending on time of year and which way the water is flowing. Unfortunately it’s more an art not a science for this marsh. I hear you, we need an accurate way of getting the tide out there; we really need a buoy at High Bridge!
@Tackletuesdayfishing2 жыл бұрын
@@KayakFishingAddict pretty much what I do now when I launch at high bridge. I’m slowly getting better at judging the right times.

Hi there what break setting did you have for those light weight lures? I got the same reel but I feel that is more for heavy lures than light! Thanks
@KayakFishingAddict2 жыл бұрын
Hi Hugo. I had the brake set at 4.5 with the spool tension adjusted to just where I needed to thumb the spool to keep it from backlashing. The baits are not all light though. They range from 1/8 to 1/4 oz. The two I used in the video were on the 1/8 oz side.

So when are you going to move on to the long rod and throw a real fly?? ;)
@KayakFishingAddict2 жыл бұрын
Good question....maybe sometime in the future. Right now I'm having fun with baitcast gear though and it's really more efficient to use that from a single person kayak.
